As early as 2008 Dems weren't ready to fight for LGBT issues, yet Bernie was ok that train half a century earlier. He might not have accomplished many of his goals as the lone indipendent from VT, but that's because society had to catch up to him. Bernie has accomplished plenty in the house and through amendmends. He's worked in a bipartisan way to combat the war in yemen, the veterans administration bill he worked with McCain on as well as the expansion of community health centers in the ACA. He has passed few bills as the author, that is true. But that isn't the only measure of effectiveness in congress.
