'It's Studio 54 All Over Again': Lady Gaga, SZA, Justin Timberlake & Dua Lipa Lead Disco's Radio Revival

"Disco is coming back in full force," says R Dub, XHTZ (Z90) San Diego director of programming, also citing Doja Cat's "Say So" (on Kemosabe/RCA), which rises 26-23 on Pop Songs. "There's an astounding amount of current songs espousing the disco sound this quarter, and it's only early March. It's Studio 54 all over again."

"Stupid Love" is a "mega-smash," praises WBBM-FM (B96) Chicago assistant program director/music director Erik Bradley. "I think it's going to be massive, and early listener response indicates the same."

"It's a big week for top 40," says Taylor Jukes, WHYI (Y100) Miami program director, who likewise predicts "The Other Side" as a hit heading into spring. "Lady Gaga's new song is also impressive, and brings you back."

maybe I have a limited view on what "disco" is but I don't really hear disco in SL, at least not to the extent of Don't Start Now

Oh please let this be this year's trend. I can't stand trap. It's too chill for my liking.

DSN has very little disco influences in it compared to Stupid Love. DSN is more funky to begin with, Stupid Love has a lot of disco influences (more in the demo) and a mix of 80s and 90s house beats

not Chromatica

The description of Chromatica on Apple Music reads: "Gaga is back. The new single “Stupid Love” […] is a return to form for the disco diva […]."

Are they hinting towards it being predominantly a disco record because, if so, I don't know how to handle that fact.

I was just wondering...what happened to that? It made zero buzz towards non-fans. It's one of my favorite Gaga covers ever .

Exactly what I wanted

Well almost. A few months ago I said I wanted dark disco from her, but this is EVEN BETTER

It was cool in 2015/2016 but it's just lazy, repetitive, and boring now imo.

100% here for the disco vibes to come back :firega:

You're stinky
