Born this way was huge tho, and so was Thank u next... ARTPOP was paid dust at the Grammys and it was released later in the year - I think its safe to say by that time the Grammys felt like they've acknowledged Gaga's contribution to pop enough...  We'll see, but again, if the album doesn't over-perform in some capacity, I doubt she'll be getting anything

My outlook on this is Adele and Beyoncé both have a strong connection with the GP. When you think of current women in music, those are the first two names any GP person will name.

I meant they were both overshadowed by Adele and Billie cuz they were released early in the year

Don’t forget Gaga submitted C2C for Grammys too and it won. Maybe the recording academy felt like she should only be nominated in one category? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Say what you will about ARTPOP (I’ve defended it since day 1) but that album deserved a best pop vocal nomination/win. Don’t @ me

It's not that early in the year. The deadline started like 5 months ago and album isn't even announced with a date yet

maybe tirednes from award season after her critical acclaimed first big movie role made her forget to asked Adele if 2019 was free to release??
Or maybe she was to busy with the start-up of  her  own make-up brand?
Or maybe she was in tears by her break-up?
Oh maybe it where 2 Vegas shows? 

In other words; she knew or could knew the plans of Adele last year if she did want to put out music. She for herslef just needed a break and do some other stuff.
