If you want to worry, go ahead.

I kinda have to worry because some people are not worrying at all. They are the ones MAKING the risks for everyone else that much more dangerous.

World Wide news is bad for your mental health. Getting all this negative mental stimulation 24/7 is not good.

Please do not let this bring you down. Do not panic until it is in your own neighbourhood and you are medically at risk already.

China is doing it’s lock up which is containing the number of new cases. It’s the rest of the world (40 countries infected now) that has to face the crisis. But from the sounds of it, the disease stands to kill more people outside of China than in China because no-one is taking it seriously. Ignorance and arrogance literally kills.

That has nothing to do with anything I said but okay

reality’s tight if the music is right

Omg we are all gonna die'

Turn off ur TV ur good

Some of us are older than 25. :triggered:

Some of us have elderly parents or grandparents or younger friends or relatives with compromised immune systems.

The mortality rate is higher than the flu based on the current info we have – of course, if we consider that people may be underreporting, especially in China, then that number would drop.

There's no need to panic, but it's a good time to employ common sense. If nothing else, being more conscious about washing hands and having good hygiene may save people from contracting other viruses like the flu.

I know people in mainland China and Hong Kong and what they've been going through, and I'm following their advice both regarding minimizing my own risk of contracting the virus but also of items to stock up on now as they may become rare later (toilet paper, feminine hygiene products, dog food, hand sanitizer, cold medicines, disinfectants, non-perishable foods, etc.). I am not hoarding, and I am only buying things I would eventually use anyway.

At the start of February, I sent care packages to friends in HK who couldn't find some of these items. I jokingly told them they may have to send similar packages to me in the coming month or two.

I am grateful that I work freelance and can work from home, and that I don't have children who attend school. If this virus does become a pandemic, it will have minimal effect on my day-to-day life (I'm a homebody anyway), but I know it will severely impact many people's lives.  I feel bad for people who have to work outside the home/attend school and/or who have school-age children. I feel bad for people without insurance and who don't have the expendable income to stock up on extra things just in case.

At least we have new LG music to keep us entertained and distracted.

Friend’s hospital has been designated the next place where coronavirus patients will be taken in the state. They started emptying rooms to prepare.

Old enough to have no f*cks to give. :huntyga:

But for real, you and I are close in age, so when @Renie makes fun of you for being "old," well....:fthis:

We have people on this board in their 70s, so you're definitely not the oldest. :ally:

So from what I know, it’s killing people who are very young, old, and people with pre existing conditions.

Those who usually wouldn’t beat harsh viruses in general

Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.
