Even in 2009 after the Dems took huge control of the House, or in 2006 when they did and never passed it?? As well as in the 90s. What a disgrace. Ostensibly, one of the four jerks who thought it would not be a good idea to ban lynching nation-wide said he thinks so because it violates the rights of states to have their own individual laws regarding certain issues. He is a libertarian. He left the Republican party after being the first Republican congressman to call for the impeachment of Trump. Louie Gohmert is a Republican from eastern Texas. Thomas Massie is a republican from northern Kentucky. Ted Yoho, as mentioned above, is a Republican from Florida. Specifically he represents my hometown and I feel terrible about this and I hate him. Yeah, I saw that, I just wonder what purpose this bill is supposed to serve cuz... one would assume if someone got lynched nowadays, the perpetrator(s) would be going away for murder regardless of whether you consider it a lynching or not, they'd be serving life, especially if they can prove the murder was motivated by bigotry... So if the bill is meant to be more of a formality, it's not so outrageous that it took so long to pass... It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke!
