So I think they went with the balloon first because you can see it's very rich in detail and not just a basic black balloon, it looked glossy had carving and symbols on it but then they decided to change it totally with computer effects to make it look more matte aluminum and added a faded VSCO filter on it to give a retro vintage comic vibe because they thought the first symbol looks like a balloon and a bit dated.
