Statistical models are saying this could last well into 2021, but with lesser restrictions. In June things may at least start to open up and she’d have enough time to rethink promo. The record label wants to make money and is sitting on a finished god damn Lady Gaga album. They’re accepting they can’t to promo they want but have probably thought of other things which is why it took her until 2 weeks before the drop to announce the delay. Also, it’s better to release now with limited promo, use the Ari single as hype which will undoubtedly bring more attention to the album, and then do a second wave of physical promo (if possible) in Q3 via VMAS, Coachella, talk shows, etc. it’s actually smarter this way financially and will give it a second boost of sales. It's also a real shame because she was working on three new music videos, which I guess have been scrapped if a June release is legit. There's no way she'd be able to film for those videos between now and June. I knew the album would likely be released during the virus, but I couldn't tie that into the plans we know / knew about. I guess they're not going to release the video content now as part of the pre-album roll-out anymore. Begs the question, though, if not the videos - then what?
