This is so on point. How could she ever tough that by postponing her album, the world would find faster ways to stop the virus? Why she think that she would have all this attention? And she did'nt even bothered recording a video to explain the situation. This is the same woman who created a social network only to interact with her community. She really shooted herself in the foot. Now i'm not buying any of her reasons. It would be better if she just had said that she wanted to promote it in better ways, so she would'nt lost money. Saying "i want music to heal people" and then making this decision made her sound doubtful. Not buying this forced kindnesss talk anymore 

I agree with the thesis of this. But I think people still are being harsh to her. I mean I am absolutely GUTTED. I mean really not to sound dramatic, but I felt like physically ill the rest of the day after her announcement. That’s on top of normal anxiety I have for what’s going on. We don’t know how much of this was actually her decision to make. I do find a lot of hypocrisy in her post. Lots of confusing point that contradict each other. “The focus should be on getting medical supplies.” Ok. I get that. Is she like working behind the scenes trying to make that happen? I wouldn’t put it past her because she’s an amazing human. But she’s on quarantine. So I doubt it. “It isn’t the right time.” I mean c’mon. If that’s the case this decision could’ve been made 3 weeks ago when it was still very obvious how bad this could get. “I still plan on seeing you all on tour” Like that is very likely not going to happen and setting us up for another wave of disappointment. Idk. I’m very broken up about it. I get the argument of some fans wanting a “real era.” To be fair she was quiet for most of March. We didn’t really know if any TV performances of SL that were canceled and taping schedules are usually made months in advanced. If the album truly does come in June then OK, that’s only 2 months away. But at the same time, nothing will change to them. It’s not like she’s going to be able to replan all of the promo she wanted to do. We need to realize that. Even if it gets delayed a full year, now she’s competing on the charts with the likelihood of Rihanna, Adele, Katy. The era unfortunately won’t be what it was made to be. But let us also realize that people’s LIVES aren’t what they thought it would be. A lot of more important things have been affected. Deaths. The economy. A pop album won’t change any of that. And if the album could give just some of us solace to dance alone and cry and drink. And live stream with fans. And then later on in the year dance with us all and do more physical promo, I personally just thought that would be the better option. But some people can’t put it like that and wish death on her, I don’t support that either.

Can she even be disturbed by her fans at this point? There was a fan in 5'2 following her between locations and calling her mommy.

I mean, it must be a really love-hate relationship for her when all she wants to do is create the best, dopest music for her fans, only to have them send her death threats and call her names.

I think anytime fans get overly aggressive, she feels disturbed by it. Doesn't really matter how many times it's happened.

That's true. I definitely don't want to downplay the thought that she can be affected by it. I'm just not sure she's really surprised with their reactions anymore.

I think ya'll are overthinking the idea behind a delay. She just wants to perform the album for fans so that the music feels fresh and new. It's her ****ing album campaign and she had a plan for how to roll it out. Dua Lupa's album leaked and was already in production, she otherwise would have done the same.

i think she didn't even bothered to check. she's 12 years on the industry and now i think she can discriminate which is only hate and which comment is only truly sad/angry fans. 

i mean, i'm not happy it is postpone, and i will never took an social media to talk **** about someone, i can completely understand the angrier fans. we are waiting almost 7 years for a electro-pop sound album, and the excuse to postpone it wasnt very clear on that letter.

girl, she said she wanted the whole world to listen and dance to the new music. she wants success, and there's nothing wrong with that, but she should been more clear on the letter. its delayed because she wants to promote/and get those physical copies sells. (which is TOTALLY FINE and i'm here for it, just dont leave us on hold forever like she's been doing since forever)

Well, her reasoning was pretty clear though. It was because she didn't feel like it was the right time to release an album. And while she didn't explicitly state this, it's also clear that her promo schedule being thrown off was a huge factor too. 

I can understand that fans are angry, upset, and disappointed. We all are that way. However, some fans need to be more mature enough to express those feelings in more productive ways.

I am unrealistically expecting one next week just because the Ari collab was due next week. I don't see the harm in releasing just ONE song from the album. Idk if it would go against her "not the right time" motif, but like everyone else is still releasing music. It's not like damn iTunes, Spotify, and Apple Music are also shutting down for the time being. Some things have to move forward. Just ONE song would keep me going for another 2 months like SL did.
