I’m sure Gaga genuinely felt it a good collab. Since when is she known to do things for just the mainstream attention or to get a sales boost? That was her entire issue with her label during ARTPOP. Additionally, as much as Halsey + BTS’ “Boy with Luv” was huge it didn’t do huge numbers over here in the US as a top single for extended weeks. So it’s not like she’s just doing this (if it actually happens) for some guaranteed smash. If anything the collab with Ariana would fall more in line with your logic yet people like Ariana more because she’s American. Her whole concept for this album is kindness and bringing people together so to collab with one of the other biggest pop stars in the world and a huge girl Kpop group kinda fits in with that paradigm. And also.... I can’t wait when the song smashes/we love it. It all seems manufactured and doesn't seem organic. Just because they are Korean makes them special? No thats not how it works. If this was a western genre, I'd be saying the same. Of course, we don't know what it sounds like and its not even confirmed. Nothing has been revealed. At the moment it appears they hope SL will be an organic hit with TikTok (not available yet) and radio boosting its sales.
