Looks like only Bernie and Warren will be viable in California:

I hope Bernie ends up winning 66-75% of the delegates allocated, while warren taking the rest. That'll be a huge boost to his campaign.

I expect some southern states including Florida to go to other candidates though. So I hope California makes up for that.

If this happens, or Bernie overperforms at all there, or miraculously is the only person viable... Whew lord, its over. This is the biggest opportunity for Bernie to make his chances of reaching a majority even closer of a reality, and that polling has been consistently strong for months now for him + the resources being spent there and in Texas... Bernie's team came to WIN, they had confidence in their fundraising, and they have budgeted their money well it seems. They've been looking towards the future while candidates like Pete and Warren and Amy and even Joe have staked all of their money and momentum on individual states like IA, NH, and SC. If Bernie becomes the nominee, the biggest story to campaigns down the road is that you must be able to generate genuine enthusiasm as a candidate in order to create fundraising and not rely on media narratives and positive coverage for exposure. Bernie got into this position DESPITE media being against him.

This doesn't surprise me considering that one of the things I remember about LA was seeing graffiti of Bernie :laughga:

If him and Warren are the only viable candidates in Cali, that means he outright wins on the first ballot.

It's over at that point.

This time california is super important. He's going to get an amazing lead.

Expected to win over 200 delegates from CA alone. #2 is around 80.

I still wouldn't be too sure. A lot will depend also on Florida and Texas. If he wins CA, FL, TX, he has the nomination on lock.

If he wins CA and TX, he has the plurality on lock.

Yea, I just got a chance to look at all the numbers. Chances are that the momentum will be enough, most of these campaigns can't survive past ST

The issue is Amy and Steyer might drop out but Warren won't. :neyde: And she's gonna hurt any possibility of progressive vote uniting.

Warren is being very annoying and unrealistic right now.

She's not wrong, those are the rules, but staying in past her time just isn't right. If her goal is to push progressive ideas to the WH, standing back would be best after ST.

Exactly my point. She should stay for now hoping for a surprise win in California or something but it's not right to split votes when you're the so-called "pragmatic progressive"-- it's not pragmatic to do that.

Especially if she loses Massachusetts, I think she should drop out.

I don’t think it’s worth it to daydream about what the race could look like if certain candidates drop out. At the end of the day, Warren, like Bernie, is an ambitious politician who believes they are the right person to be president. As long as they have support and cash, they’re gonna stay in the race.

Yes, but a candidate has to ask themselves if it really is worth it to stay in a race when they'll end up with 200 delegates of the required 1900. We'll have a more clear picture after ST.
