PaperGypsy 462
this woman is an utter legend and is so underrated, i can’t even.. i have stanned for christina since about 2016, when i really took time to actually explore all of her albums. it was in 2008 tho that i first started taking an interest in her, when she released “keeps gettin’ better”. boy, did i stan HARD for that song and it was then that i bought the greatest hits CD. i thought most of the songs on the CD were cute bops, but at that time nothing could come close to the absolute banger that was keeps gettin’ better. i later went on to buy bionic when i saw it in tesco (it’s a UK supermarket for those who don’t live here) as i’d seen not myself tonight on tv about a week before and thought it was a bit of a bop. i didn’t really enjoy too much on the album except for NMT and vanity (i remember being so shocked at all the swear words in the song, as i’d never heard her like this before). then around 2011 i was on the school bus home and fighter was playing on the bus, and like obviously i’d heard the song before but it just clicked with me so hard in that moment and it is still to this day my favourite xtina song ever! again i never paid attention to too much of her other stuff during this time until 2016 when everyone was getting hyped up for britney’s glory comeback which made me start to think about christina again. i started exploring all of her albums and over time discovered more and more songs i like and because xtina also seemed likely to be releasing her album in 2016 as well (as it would’ve been 4 years since lotus, which is typically the time she takes between albums) i was getting really excited but little did i know i’d have to wait two more years which felt like forever (honestly can’t imagine what the 6 year wait must’ve been like for older stans as 2 years was bad enough). i really love all of her albums except i don’t really pay attention to her pre-stripped apart from the singles really. i don’t feel like i can connect to the previous albums as i don’t feel like they are the real her, as they feel too label puppety as if they were trying to make britney spears 2.0. i’d say some of my favourite xtina songs are fighter, bionic, not myself tonight, accelerate, maria, still dirrty, candyman, keeps gettin’ better, circles, lotus intro, vanity, birds of prey UGH i could go on and on like her discography is amazing!! i also saw her in london in november and she was amazing! made me like even more songs by her that i didn’t enjoy too much before because she performed so well and the energy was amazing! I was a Britney fan back then and thought she was a Britney wannabe. I started stanning her in the Stripped era, when a friend from school lent me his cd and it was just like nothing I had ever heard before and the inspirational songs were everything. I bought my own cd the very next day. I loved these songs you recomended because I think people sometimes have a wrong perception of her as someone who can’t deliver in terms of song quality and that’s so wrong. Soar helped keep me going through my depressed teen years, so this one will always be special to me, but there’s a lot of other gems in her discography. I’ll keep looking for Wonderland

I loved reading this Especially that you mentioned Soar. I find it hard to pick one favorite from her amazing discography, but it may be Soar. That song always gets me in a good mood and helps me through everything. I usually have it as alarm so it’s the first thing I heard in the morning. She is definitely very underrated. I feel like most people don’t take the time to listen to her music and notice her well crafted concept albums and the songs in them. I don’t care about chart succes, but it does bother me a bit that the GP really don’t care about her new music enough. While she always delivers great music. Of course it’ also lack of promo and stuff, but also lack of interest. What you want Lady Gaga🥂 What you want with Christina🥂
