Of the stars that started very young I think Rihanna is the one that held her sh*t together the best (she was 17)

Others who started young or very young: Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, Demi Lovato, Justin Bieber possibly Lord as we're talking...

They all have had mental health problems

It’s sad that the cycle of abuse of child stars is never ending. We have known for decades now what happens to most of them. I always think of Corey Haim and Brad Renfro and what happened to them. In a documentary I read that the music industry is ten times worse than acting in how they treat newcomers.

Rihanna is exceptional, maybe because she is from Barbados and kept close to her roots.

The pressure got to her because she was only 17 when she blew up. I wouldn’t be surprised if it messed her up that bad that she becomes a recluse for the rest of her life. This is what I worry about Billie Eilish. The industry is notoriously cruel, sexist, ageist and superficial. No place for a child.

What is this even in reference to? She’s shown a habit of disappearing between album cycles. No indication that pressure has rendered her a recluse, lmao.

shes presently in NZ working on her third album. Last album cycle she promoted and toured. Lorde isn’t a celeb in the sense that she’ll show up to events when she isn’t “on.”

ready for her to release another AOTY. Melodrama is actually a masterpiece.

I think Taylor is the one that held on the best, considering she's never really had any major controversy (leaving aside petty internet dramas :awkney:) she's managed her career pretty well since a very young age, I respect that a lot about her

The fact that she is purposefully staying out of the limelight proves that she is and has been mature about the whole fame thing, so I hope you’re right. But I somehow doubt she wants to be a singer for life. Her personality always seemed to me like she was more interested in science or literature or theatre than pop music.

Ummm it's not even been a full 3 years since Melodrama. Chill. Lorde is known to take her time + yes, her dog Pearl has sadly passed away last Fall. She did say an album would be coming this year, but after the incident she wasn't so sure of that anymore. Give her time

They were both 17 when their careers got massive worldwide. Fame affects children differently to adults. Just hoping that Billie does not become burned out by the fame machine, and instead does what Lorde did by taking long breaks in between eras to avoid becoming trapped by the lifestyle and media cycle.

Blown Away

Making a masterpiece takes time darling. There was an almost 4-year gap between Pure Heroine and Melodrama as well and Melodrama was perfection. She'll be fine.

They shipped it, but it got shipped back
