I watched this, this morning; I love both Krystal and Saagar!

Krystal's right though. The "Bernie Bros" thing is largely a talking point set up by Republicans and other Democrats to try and make Bernie's base look like a bunch of angry white male trolls. Bernie has one of the most, if not, the most diverse coalitions in this 2020 race. To just denounce all of his supporters as "angry white male trolls" is plain ignorant. 

It is  also Bernie's biggest strength. In actuality, the fact that Bernie did so well in Iowa and New Hampshire is a greater sign than I believe people give him credit for! When the vast majority of those two populations are white voters (a lot of college educated white voters too), then it only shows that Bernie has reach across all kinds of demographics.

I still see the deplorables complaining about this. Some wear the word as a badge of honor.

Hillary Clinton was heavily criticized because she seemingly only said things that polled well in focus groups. She was allegedly too focused on chasing public opinion in order to get elected. 

Now the same people are criticizing her for having had the balls to say something perhaps unpopular, but true, that supporters of Donald “grab them by the ***” Trump were deplorable. 

Hillary really is everyone’s punching bag. “Did you know when Hillary breaths she releases carbon dioxide? She clearly doesn’t care about the environment. Neoliberal trash.”

 

Bernie Bros - don’t dox, threaten, and troll people who support politicians other than Sanders, don’t lean into Trump’s childish use of nicknames for candidates you dislike, and everything will be fine. You are doing a disservice to your canidate.

Bernie Bro is a term used both as an insult to his supporters and as a self-identifying term. There are lots of Sander’s supporters who happily identify as a Bernie Bro. 

In fact, if you look back at my post history you will see people calling me a Bernie Bro on this site when I was supporting Sanders in the last presidential primary.

On the other hand, “Rat faced Pete the Cheat” is a nickname fairly hard to reclaim.

The same people? Do you have evidence of this woman making such criticisms before about Hillary as in your accusation?

Cause unless you do, it looks to me like you're taking a fair point made by one individual about something entirely separate in order to fit some other grand narrative you have, meanwhile disingenuously grouping her into some narrow group you've conveniently created  and failed to show evidence of. 

Also, I find it interesting that in a 9+ minute video demonstrating why attacking millions of voters and casting all of them as toxic is ineffective and desperate, you zero in on the two-second line made about Hillary. Do I sense some bitterness here?

Might I add that, while I despise Trump and what he stands for, to make a blanket statement that every single one of the 60 million+ voters of his are deplorable, who aren't worth trying to win over and can just be cast to the side, is quite short-sighted and is certainly not a winning strategy.

Krystal Ball (the woman in the video) had a show on MSNBC called The Cycle, which I watched regularly. I distinctly recall her acusing Hillary of taking stances based on public polling and speaking in an overly calculated way. I remember that because I felt the same way about Clinton. 

So yes, it’s litterally the same person.

I’m aware of the negative origins of the term Bernie Bro, but you seem unaware of how ubiquitous it is as a self-identifying term among Sanders supporters. I was one in the last primary, and certainly wouldn’t be offended if I was called a Bernie Bro now. 

Search “proud Bernie Bro” on Twitter if you need evidence. People put it in their bios. 

This is a thread about Sanders supporters, so that is what I addressed. But of course, uncivil behavior from anyone is shitty.

As for the voodoo dolls, I have nothing to say. If you take that seriously, god bless.

Just going to add my one cent (not two heehe), someone found out I supported Bernie over Pete and went OFF with a final text saying that "Bernie should just up and die and do the republic a service." So...them voodoo people probably exist because people be crazy as hell

I’m not sure why you are under the impression I have no critisms for Clinton. I voted for Sanders over Clinton in the last primary. I was a Bernie Bro, and will happily vote for him in the general election if he wins the primary.

This is a thread about Bernie’s supporters. Make a thread about the toxicity of other candidate’s supporters and I will condem their incivilty.
