Should Lady Gaga expand her collaborative connections?

Let me start by saying that I respect the fact that Gaga employs her friends and keeps a close knit team. I think it's very important to stay close to your friends and not let your level of fame interfere with  the people you love. We also stan a generous queen who like showcasing smaller talents, it's rare to see from such a mainstream icon.

THAT BEING SAID, is Gaga so in love with the people she knows and trusts that she's limiting her creative possibilities? At this point, my answer would be YES, she most definitely IS limiting what she can do because she refuses to work with anyone besides the yes-men she surrounds herself with. So, I want to hear your opinions and views on it.

Before yall run to Gaga's defense, I'm not suggesting that she leaves all the producers and creative people that she's showcased along the way. However, I can't help but wonder about the "what if's" had she put her pride down and worked with more people than she has.

This has to do with producers she chooses, music videos she makes, costumes, WIGS, choreography, makeup, songwriting, etc.

Should there be more diversity in her collaborations? Discuss.

Absolutely, call me weird but working with close friends is a NO-NO, they just can't be objective of everything... Like she had a whole concept for Enigma but then she switched it all up because her friend said so...

I’m unsure but I definitely agree with the friends vs workers (employees)  dilemma.

I miss the days when she was the absolute Boss. (BTW, ARTPOP)

It is true she doesn't collab with other major artists like most pop stars do, but I feel more so her TEAM needs a re-shuffle....they can still be her friends and work with the HAUS, but sometimes you need to mix things up when it comes to your choreo, management, makeup, fashion, etc...

I want her to do the complete unexpected. I want her to work with really obscure people interms of fashion, and music producers... its cool that she works with her friends, but are they really truthful with her? I want her to expand her horizons.

I voted for "depends". The thing is, Gaga hires people and then becomes friends with them. What is she supposed to do, start firing people once she likes them too much? With the life she has, I think being able to trust her team implicitly is one of the most important things to her.

And we've seen her split with people she was very close to and loved (Troy, Tara, Boomkak) when it's not working for her anymore. So I think if she was genuinely unhappy with someone's work she would look elsewhere. 

That said, of course she should continue to explore working with new people. Fresh ideas and perspectives  are always a good thing.

Of course she should, but it's not like she has the same team since The Fame, when in fact she changed: choreographer, make-up artist, ditched Red One, Fernando Garibay, Matthew Williams, Formichetti, etc... and yet there are always some people yelling "we miss the old Gaga"... without realizing  that what defines the "Old Gaga" are these people that she left behind..

She is building a community of artists with her Haus, the same way that Andy Warhol had his Factory from 1962-1984. 

I really love that about her. It’s so tribal and loyal and old-fashioned and so not cool these days but I guess it makes what she and her Haus do so extraordinary. 

They’re more like a family business than a corporation. It’s more challenging, messier and not as polished as having all the media companies bankroll you, yet so refreshing to witness the magic they create.
