They are not the same group, but there is some overlap. There are MANY independents out there who dislike both mainstream Dems and Republicans and those are the disenfranchised people who have lost faith in politics. Those are the ones who need a strong platform to get behind and so many of them vote Bernie because he's not like most Dems and offers a breath of fresh air. Bernie does well everywhere there are open primaries (aka independents vote too). NH is an open primary and Bernie is in his neighbour state and has just a 2% lead. Your argument isnt so strong.
