Sorry to bud into a conversation not between me but I have to weigh in this If sexual orientation based on gender and sex is not sexist why does racial preference have to be racist? Different races have different features that are more common then in other races Race influences eye colour, height, skin complexion, hair colour, hair texture, amount of body hair and a bunch of other traits ppl have preferences on It doesn't mean ur seeing one race as superior to another. But like, there are some races I find have a higher portion of attractive people to me than others And it's a generalization. They stem from a deep-rooted prejudice and perception that white people look better or are hotter etc.. Yes I know that there's a tiny percentage of people who are not into white people. But if you look at these dating apps (where people speak their mind freely), you'll see that language is mainly used against darker skins. We are conditioned through Hollywood (among other things) (over-representing whites) that whites and white-passing latinos/middle easterns are the best. And that's what generally creates the subconscious preference. I learnt to suppress any subconscious beliefs like that. Now I really appreciate the beauty that are in all races with no exceptions. I am not going to allow myself to think that I have a racial preference or normalize it in anyway. I've honestly had flirting/sexual encounters with people from all races over the years. And there is no reason whatsoever to believe that certain races are better. It's all stigma, misconceptions and myths. We all believe that we are not racist. But not being racist doesn't just come down to being against Jim Crow laws. Everybody is these days. Look a bit further. If you see your whole inner circle is white, all your close friends are white, all of the people you flirted with are white, despite living in a diverse city, then you most certainly have subconscious racial bias, which you should be aware of and overcome. For starters I'm white and whites are not even my #1 favs its actually Arabs and Indians cuz I love the light brown skin complexion and I love the typical features for both men and women. It doesn't mean I'm attracted to every Indian or Arab, as a general rule I do find them attractive tho. It doesn't mean I see them as some superior race Ur telling me they stem for deep rooted racial prejudice and I think ur just pure wrong for making that assumption about ppl For some ppl it could be the case but it doesn't mean it's for everyone Ppl DO have certain preferences on physical traits and some are for more common in some races than another. For me things like "I'm not into blacks" or "I'm not into asians", or "I prefer whites" will always sound wrong to me, and quite frankly racist. I know some people prefer latinos/middle easterns etc.. And I don't dispute that. But I'm talking about the fact that the overwhelming majority of these preferences are against people of color. There is no reason whatsoever to have these preferences to begin with. If people learnt to be more accepting, we wouldn't be having this discussion. And noticeably every single person that's been butthurt about my comments about racial preferences is a white person.
