Brainiac 11,171
I’m so sick of these pundits only asking Bernie this question. Why don’t they ever ask this to Joe or Pete? Bernies the most likely person to be our nominee at this point. I think it’s important that we know the other remaining candidates will support HIM at this point. AlexanderMagno 10,746
No matter Bernie Sanders's ideology, it really seems he has the best personality in American politics and the most consistent throughout the years. I'm really sad there's some sort of effort to keep him out of the campaign, and that Trump will likely win again. This guy deserved a chance to be president of the USA. ItsTommyBitch 12,640
Ofc he would. The fact that he, the man is not like the pundits describe him must be infuriating to these people, but Bernie Sanders is not a flag in the ground die hard my way or the highway person and he never has been in all his time in office. He supported Hillary Clinton in 2016 even though his supporters did NOT want him to, because he obviously understands that him becoming president is not the end-all-be-all of political dishevelment, and that Donald Trump is an existential threat to Democracy and freedom. The real tea however is "will you support whoever the nominee is" is just a rhetorical strategy meant to box him in. He knows it, but he plays along out of courtesy. We're already seeing the facade start to slip, but they began it a bit early. Hillary Clinton already implied she wouldn't support him - she had to scale it back. Joe Biden also made the case that his support would be tentative, and he scaled it back as well, but its the end result obviously. It's as we say - they are more interested in maintaining their power than defeating Trump (and its why we may very well lose no matter who the nominee is if they don't get their act together) They can't admit that out loud, but its true, and if Bernie becomes the nominee, you will see more and more establishment figure types come out and say "Look, I hate Trump but I cant vote for Bernie" and then the "BUT UNITY" wall of sound will fall on deaf ears. If Trump were to win because of #VoteBlueNoMatterWhoButBernie people staying home, would they blame those people like they blamed #BernieOrBust? I imagine regular people would, but media and pundits would not, because this is ultimately about power. Bernie is more of a threat to their power than Trump is. They get to yell at trump and cover his missteps and abuses of power every day. It's revenue. It's exposure. Its career making. Its capitalism at work. If you want a candidate who is truly dedicated to Unity no matter who the nominee is, who is NOT my way or the highway, Bernie Sanders is the only candidate with the integrity it seems to commit to this. (Maybe Amy and Tom are as well, but they have like 0% chance of winning atm) 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから
Morphine Prince 109,683
The centrists who accused him of not being the unity candidate in 2016 are starting to lose it because even that is being shown to be false in 2020. All they can do is scream socialism just like the Republicans.
Lilmonzter 2,864
It's not just about winning the democratic nomination for Bernie. It's also about defeating the orange gas bag. Sing C'est la vie
REALITY 80,170
Questions like these that are specifically directed to Bernie are so stupid... Like, Bernie has always been consistent about what he says and believes. His #1 priority during this campaign is to kick Donald Trump out of the White House, and if there happens to be a situation where he is not the nominee, he would support whoever the Democratic nominee is. It's literally as simple as that. What these pundits and media personalities need to do is ask other candidates that question. Ask it to Biden, Buttigieg, Warren, Klobuchar, etc. This "As Democrats we need to unite!" rhetoric is just a talking point. Democrats are "united" as long as it's not someone like Bernie Sanders...pathetic. 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔪𝔬𝔫𝔰𝔱𝔢𝔯 𝔱𝔬𝔯𝔢 𝔞𝔴𝔞𝔶 𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔪𝔞𝔰𝔨 𝔞𝔫𝔡...𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔣𝔞𝔠𝔢 𝔴𝔞𝔰 𝔪𝔦𝔫𝔢.
