Did I use the word dumb to describe Pete’s supporters? No I didn’t. Was it implied in my statement? What do you think? Are you ever not full of bad faith arguments or banal statements? You're not putting the full argument I made. You are taking it out of context. It was based on politics. Bernie had just released his numbers in Iowa that showed him in the lead even though only 40% of the numbers had come back. I made the agreement that he released those numbers because he knows his base and how rabid they would be when the results came back differently. I said Bernie is smart but his followers, not so much. But it was based on politics. He is after all a thirty year career politician. Best selling author and millionaire. He does have a high number of women and poc that will vote for him, but to call them a majority is an outright lie. Words matter. “We were criticized for being too white; that was a correct criticism,” Sanders said on the Breakfast Club radio show in March. “We were criticized for being too male; that was a correct criticism. That’s going to change.” It’s starting to. An analysis of recent polls from November of 2018 to March 2019 shows Sanders is more popular with people of color than white people, and women like Sanders as much as men do, if not more. He leads every other possible 2020 contender with Latino voters and lags behind only Joe Biden — who hasn’t announced a bid yet — with African-American voters. Sanders’ polling numbers with black voters are double that of Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), according to a March Morning Consult poll. https://www.vox.com/2019/3/7/18216899/bernie-sanders-bro-base-polling-2020-president “New findings from The Economist show that women under 45 make up a larger share of Bernie Sanders’ base than do men in their same age group, contradicting a popular narrative that says the 2020 Democratic candidate's supporters are overwhelmingly white and male, to the virtual exclusion of other groups.” https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/gyzjmb/bernie-bros-women-under-45-make-up-a-larger-share-of-bernie-sanders-base-than-men “Concerned citizens across the political spectrum are often guilty of wishfully thinking that, if they say something over and over (and over) again, it’ll magically become true. But new data from the Pew Research Center has refuted one of the most beloved political narratives of recent years. The research reveals that, contrary to popular belief, Bernie Sanders supporters are more female and less white than any of the leading 2020 Democratic presidential candidates. So much for the male, stale and pale Bernie Bro. Based on polls of registered Democrat or “Democrat-leaning” voters, just 49 per cent of Sanders supporters are white. Elsewhere, white people account for 56 per cent of Joe Biden’s supporters, with Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren tallying at 59 per cent and 71 per cent respectively. More women support Sanders than his two female frontrunner opponents too. Women make up 53 per cent of Sanders supporters, compared to 49 per cent of Warren supporters and 48 per cent of those who support Biden and Harris.” https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/sanders-supporters-bernie-bro-poll-less-white-women-2020-democrat-candidates-a9070531.html The truth matters, maybe you should start using it. When someone told you that you were a bad faith actor it was based on your politics yet you took it as a personal attack. The first one is before Biden entered the race. Biden still has more support from AA and Warren from women in other polls. But ok I will give you this one on women. Not POC because it doesn't prove POC. I don't mind being wrong every once in a while. Even if it is based on a single poll in an article that links to a Tweet instead of the actual poll.
