That being said I was a little surprised. I expected Biden to perform a little higher and Pete a little lower

Biden doesnt have a strong support, he only polls high because most none voters and people who know nothing about politics will answer Biden. But none of them will go out of their way to support his campaign financially or to go vote.

Gotta love people who ignore actual facts and keep running with a false narrative made up out of inaccurate data :ladyhaha:

A Trump tease! Republicans are shook.

If Bernie wants to contest the results, he can! Still almost 2 hours to file. If not, he doesn’t care that much! Sorry, but Pete will officially be the winner!

Yeah Pete spent a lot on Iowa and Iowa is also 91% white which is his main base

I don't expect him to perform as well going forward

He jumped 9 points in NH yesterday! BEFORE being declared the official winner! Team Pete should feel good right now.

No one expected him to win Iowa, either. The DMR poll got leaked at Gad him WAY down (something like 16% and in fourth).

Feel the momentum, baby!

Iowa has proven how Democrats don’t actually care about democracy or people of color’s votes being thrown in the trash.

A “win” full of inaccurate numbers isn’t something to be proud of.

The fact people are celebrating Pete’s win is disgusting.

Don’t pretend to care about democracy.

Fixing the inaccuracies would help Pete LMAOOO

Have you not read about the satellite SDE calculation mayhem?

No definitely for sure he's doing better than expected

But he only won by a thin margin on a state he campaigned heavily in and that has more of his base

If he basically tied Sanders on a 91% white more moderate state I wouldn't expect him to win in other States

Who knows tho. Like I said, I would have expected Biden to be a little higher and Pete lower so that just goes to show u can never know anything for sure

I've read the satellite SDE was benefiting Sanders.

EVEN IF it were to help Pete, celebrating a "win" with KNOWN errors is very Trump-like. Can't say I'm shocked to see mainstream Democrats celebrating.

Same people upset over Hillary losing the electoral college. Give me a break.

It's been declared a virtual tie henny. So no, he will not be winning. Even if Bernie doesn't end asking for a recanvass.

Bernie won the popular vote and is tied with Buttigieg in SDEs so I don't think he's very worried!

You can continue spreading alternative fact and fake news all you want, but doesn't mean it's right.

If these results stay as is, Pete and Bernie tied Iowa. Remain bothered :ohwell:

Most of our country’s African American population lives in republican states. Mississippi has the highest African American pop % and they haven’t voted Democrat since 1976. Sadly white people are going to control this election and I don’t think that Pete’s lack of support in non white demographics is gonna make a difference. As far as the primary goes it definitely will hurt him.

Looking over and erasing the millions of people of color  beyond African Americans, and importantly Latinos (who Bernie is destroying the other candidates with), that are in cities and states all across the country and not just Republican ones?

Typical mainstream politics and talking points

Bernie won the vote from all people of color (not just African Americans) in Iowa by 43%, more than doubling the next best candidate.

To take away their voice and try to make their votes not count is disgusting.

White people will not "control the election" like what kinda fvcked up white supremacist sh!t is that.

Bernie has the best chance of energizing and exciting the base and getting young people and people of color out to vote, which will be absolutely necessary for a Democrat to win in 2020.

I worded my comment badly and I deleted it before you posted this reply. I just don’t have a lot of hope for this election. The black vote can make or break the primary.

Okay, well I'm glad you saw the issues with the post. It's necassry that people admit to mistakes or issues and own up to them, myself included.

I understand where you're coming from though. I'm quite skeptical as well, and agree with what you're saying about the Black vote.

It's also super crucial that PoC in general turn out for this primary, and crucially in the general, if the Dems are to have any chance of winning. Young people too.

Dems lost in 2016 because the young and PoC vote was down, while the key voting blocs in the Republican party turned out.

What we need is someone who excites and energizes the key voting blocs in the Democratic party to get them to turn out.

this is what happens when you have people going around manually counting people, yelling from across the room to convey numbers to write down on a white board, when you have people moving around, recounting them, rewriting numbers, and on and on. i am so not surprised that this method of voting has inconsistencies once people start to analyze the results this closely. but yeah keep going with the caucusing.

To be fair, if you actually go into the errors in depth (I even downloaded the uploaded data, I'm obviously obsessed) the most significant errors are an issue of data entry on the IDPs part... not inconsistencies in how the process was done, though that exists it only amounts to a few individual fractional SDEs given out or coin tosses possibly being done at the wrong time.

Things like Bernie getting 2,149 popular votes and 155 delegates being recorded as 1635 votes and 80 delegates were much more significant and just blatantly wrong. Not an issue of putting things in the wrong column or under the wrong last name.. They just flat out looked at the paper ballots and put out different numbers :rip: A lot of the reporting on this is only general about the results, but many people as of now have compiled very specific examples of the errors. There are more than enough blatant errors for Bernie to have won the SDE count for example.

In other countries, governments have been toppled for these kinds of mistakes :saladga:

It is NOT a tie, Buttigieg will walk away with 2 more national delegates than Bernie BECAUSE he got more SDEs. Sorry! No fake news here. Pete is officially the winner my friend!

He actually didn't get more SDEs with all of the errors accounted for, which throws the entire allocation process into question,  but pop off sis!
