Except they are not! Water levels rose all January in all 5 Great Lakes especially Lake Huron and Lake Michigan by an average of another 3-4 inches in January. Over the last year 7.8 Trillion Gallons for Lake Michigan & Huron alone were added to lake levels (over 25 Trillion Litres) not counting the other lakes (Up to 100 Trillion litres counting all lakes) The damp and cloudy weather has prevented almost any evaporation and heavy rains and snow has resulted in way more precipitation than normal. Hopefully Chicago will be ok this Spring/Summer when levels are supposed expected to hit a new peak Lake Ontario and Erie rose a lot too and I can't see differences in beaches that are mostly gone but other than Toronto island at least we're not loosing properties Lake Superior has low population surrounding it so I assume it's probably not causing as much damage Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Economy 52,861 Posted February 4, 2020 Author Share Posted February 4, 2020 4 minutes ago, Doot said: Can confirm that I'm still above sea level I'll check back on u in April, May and June when all the melted snow and spring rains raise the lakes further I got a friend who works in Toronto and has to drive by water front on his commute and he tells me how shocking it is that the beaches he's known all his life are basically gone (and I know cuz I've seen it when going to visit my grandparents) Also I still wanna go to Toronto island and I'm not here for a 4th year of closure because of it being submerged so lakes get your **** together and take a big leak into the Ocean already so I can visit my childhood place Who am I kidding what businesses are there even gonna be left there at this point? So many memories And now it's always closed when I wanna go in the summer. 3 years already and looks like 2020 will be the 4th Looks like I might have to go in the Fall/early winter when lake levels are lowest maybe its actually open for a while then even tho the activities are only fun in the summer and everything is damaged anyway Edit: https://www.torontoisland.com/ferry.php The Ferri doesn't run after October. Ohhhh lmao that makes sense 🤦♀️ Honestly the beach is still visible thankfully, if it floods then so will one of the main roads that go along the coast.
