Delusional 9,221
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-politics-51324431 The UK is no longer a member of the EU. I don’t know what to say, for the past 30 minutes I’ve been waiting on a thread to be made so I can express my thoughts and no one has posted one. I have never been so p*ssed off. I am a migrant from Europe and people are setting off fireworks and writing all over Facebook about how “Britain is going to be great again”. if I’m being specific, I’m talking about the nanny my mother hired when I was little, so the fact she is celebrating us being able to let in less migrants is humiliating considering she was hired by one! It’s so sad thinking about how doomed we are. It’s just miserable because if the people of the UK weren’t so brainwashed by the mass conservative media then we would not be in this situation at all. ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️BANNED TILL SEPTEMBER‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

Queen Bitch 10,513
The biggest problem with the EU, is how neoliberal and capitalist it is. But it seems that the cons of leaving, far outweigh the pros. At least as of right now.

Leblanc 2,494
I voted remain but tbh since then I've slowly started to think it's not the worst thing in the world. The reasons people may have voted leave may be something I don't agree with but the way I see it now is that it's happening and we should just come together and make the best of it. OMonster 15,025
The UK and Europe will always be co-dependent, and we aren't leaving the continent. Leaving the EU is more symbolic than it is tangible - at this stage, anyway. It affords us the opportunity to restore accountability in our politics, which - in the long term - will benefit our democratic stability. Irrespective of personal views, no one can deny or ignore the rise in national populism. Therefore, the only solution is to deal with it and to reflect what large parts (small majorities) of the country wants to do. Logic (and economics) tells us that the EU and the UK will *have* to continue, roughly, the same relationship. The UK will regain more 'control' (legislative, the ability to trade bilaterally) and the EU will place some restrictions on our future relationship (I predict they'll insist that the UK keeps a level of free movement) - but, that aside, the UK will not see much change imo. One benefit, though, is that if the EU ever enters a recession again, the UK will have the ability to look elsewhere for economic stability. I guess the biggest problem will be Scottish independence, since this will harm the economies of both Scotland and the UK. Now we have the left the EU, an independent EU-aligned Scotland will be in a different customs union to the UK. This will lead to a hard border between Scotland and the UK - and, as a result, economic opportunity will be hindered for both sides. I guess, then, it is Scottish independent, not Brexit, that will *really* define the destiny of the UK. subtext / fantasy
