That's a talking point people use to try and defend their negativity (not their critcism). There's a difference between saying: Stupid Love just wasn't a song for me. It's catchy, sure, but I'm just not a fan of the lyrics. Hopefully she'll have more engaging and complex stuff on the album! and This is pathetic. This is insulting. Gaga completely gave up; we waited all this time for THIS?! She really doesn't care anymore. Agreed, there's a respectful way of expressing one's opinion and then there's the disrespectful one. Visiting this forum at least once a day for a few whole years now, I can assure you that I have seen more instances of people attacking personal and respectful opinions than people being shitty people in the comments. Speaking from experience, I have always expressed my dislike of the Joanne era in the most respectful way I could, yet there was always someone trying to impose their "positive" vision on my "negative" one. I do agree with you, but there are a lot of fans that just can't seem to agree to disagree and see critiques as a means of disrespecting an artist's work, which just isn't that by definition. Well, I find it really absurd... SL is a radio friendly and safe song, from that point of view there's nothing to fear of.

That said yeah, if you're expressing your critcism in a way that's respectful, that's completely fine. Then I think at that point people can chime in and give their take, if they happen to disagree with you. But just being outright negative with nothing of substance to say is just always wrong. Then why don't you leave and stream Katy & Ava instead? Because since you took the strange decision to post on GGD again when SL leaked, you didn't stop to spit on Gaga's work. We get it, you want RedOne back. But that's just not happening, ever. You're really losing your time, trust me.

He just said she's coming, the lead is obviously SL and that its around the corner. When asked, he said it's not coming this weekend, but next weekend, so that means February 7th. You can still find non-depth lyrics to be more artistic and eccentric than other non-depth lyrics. If one finds them lazy and basic and that they just don't click for them, there's nothing you can say to make your point the right point.

Gaga completely gave up; we waited all this time for THIS?! She really doesn't care anymore. Whereas one might be politically correct, the other responses are just more vocal. Besides, those types of responses are nowhere to be seen in this thread in the way that you pose them. All of them contain some sort of backing that they either believe the song sounds dated, that the lyrics and content of the song are a bit shallow for Gaga and would harm her artistic image, or whatever. 11 minutes ago, M Monstre said: There isn't, it's subjective. But we can argue over how to express our tastes. You are going to tell me how I have to express my opinion? Yeah I don't think so. 10 minutes ago, ThatBinch said: You have just chosen to ignore everything in the verses of SL to support your weak argument. Right, I did. The pre-chorus is repeated too much throughout the song and makes it sound too "shallow" for me for a Gaga song in this day and age. Maybe I have been spoiled by ASIB. If she wants to make fun party music again, I would hope that at least it isn't rooted in arrogance. ("im so beautiful, freak out about me, look at me"), which is a little bit of the problem I saw with Applause as well.
PanPikus 9,879
Ehhhh... Disappointed but not surprised. It's Interscope after all... Not excited at all. I was expecting big pop comeback for Gaga and she's about to serve basic, leaked, Ava Max'ed, no chorus lead... It's nice to engage in some constructive dialogue, thank you for that. Personally, I remain of the same idea. I still find it difficult to come in here and have some healthy discussion on why I may like a product more or less than someone else. I'm hopeful though. As for people being outright negative, best not to engage them. That per se causes even more negativity.
