Asking Bernie to apologize for everything "bad" that some people who support him do is silly.

Right? It's often not even about what he does but about what somewhat who liked him does.

If we start like that every candidate gonna be quite problematic at the very least...

"I thought Bernie was a saint who didnt believe in Dark money!? Still support him now!? Freaking hypocrites!" might as well be the OP title except its too long :laughga:

Too long and not even proved to be accurate lol.

It's a political game and Bernie is a veteran politician. He wouldn't be in this position, if he didnt know how to play the game.

The fact that his supporters think that he is some sort of a saint is another discussion, but this isnt so surprising.

That one really bugs me tbh. The black and white ideas that ur candidate is so perfect and other like the devil :triggered:. No human is perfect

I'm a Bernie supporter and he's the one I'm stabbing because I think overall he can be a positive influence on the direction of society more than any other candidate

But maybe the fact that I don't agree 100% with how far he wants to go in everything allows me to take a step back and look at him more objectively without seeing him as some saint that can do no wrong

There are some big outlets like the YouTube Channel "the young Turks" that have essentially become Bernie fanatics defending everything move he does while trash talking every single other candidate on everything

This is becoming borderline cult like, the way some Trumpsters are only on the opposite side with Bernie

Also to be clear I'm talking about specific ppl. I'm not talking about all Bernie supporters. He too is my #1 candidate and I wouldn't consider myself part of that group I'm talking about

Bernie has 2.5 million. He's 78 and his salary in Congress, of which he worked for many years, has been 174,000. He also made money last year on a book. So what? He could easy have tens of millions by now if he wanted.

That’s right, he is a millionaire. He is part of the one per-centers.

With the amount that Bernie is smeared, his supporters are going to come to his defense. That's not cult-like, we are just tired of limousine liberals attempting to sabotage our chances of universal healthcare and affordable college.

Defense is fine... But I see a lot of devotion that goes well beyond defence to me... It's almost like he's this saint figure that can do no wrong

I agree many are unfair (tho tbh other candidates have gotten unfair criticisms in my opinion too)

But anyway some ppl may... But he's got a fair group that doesn't

All u gotta do is follow some media and commentary outlets or YouTube channels and u can see some of his fan base literally will never say anything bad about their darling Bernie

As much as I love discussing politics I also find it super exhausting cuz half the people are so biased (regardless of where in the political spectrum they are in) that it's almost impossible to have any kind of intelligent debate

I'm braodly speaking. I'm not saying everyone is like that...

U certainly haven't come across that way to me. Many here and on other sites or other social media certainly have tho

I think a lot of this is because the discourse is almost never about anything that are Bernie’s real flaws. And some of his flaws are things other candidates have in spades.

I’ve mentioned it before but one of (in my view) Bernie’s weaknesses is his unwillingness to drag his opponents in order to win. He let Hillary off on her emails, let Joe off on corruption etc.

He has a tendency to listen to woke twitter (Cenk endorsement).

He often gets tripped up by CNN and MSNBC when they play “gotcha” questions with him because he doesn’t treat them as adversarially as he does Fox News.

He has supported regime change in the past and has made poor decisions on foreign policy.

Many people have I guess a valid criticism of him for where he stands on guns but *I* personally think some of those criticisms go too far.

There are a few other votes where you can say he voted for X but it was a large bill that also has Y. But the funny thing is he’s also criticized for not getting anything done because of purity tests but some people (even people on GGD) seize on votes like these to try and make him seem like the worst candidate in the world.

Whether some people want to admit it or not, Bernie has always been held to a different level of scrutiny by the elite and corporate media (as well as the DNC). Which BTW (side note), the people Tom Perez, DNC chair, has nominated to be the big players at the 2020 convention are almost exclusively former Clinton/Obama staff that have a history of outright disdain for Bernie specifically.

As for the rest of the content of the OP post, @ItsTommyBitch articulated my opinion better than I could have so kudos to them.

Yes. In these aspects I can agree

The problem with what are you  saying is that it is working. Hillary lost, in part, because she couldn't make the news, she followed them.

Trump was able to ignore real news and make the agenda. Bernie seems to be able to do it also. In the last month, everything was about Bernie.

Fox news outlets were there for trump, like tyt outlets are there for Bernie, sometimes by destroying their political adversaries. Both also provide the most loyal supporters possible. I guess Bernie is the saint also because of its political agenda.

Until something change, until those in the middle find a way to say stop to the double standard, maybe this is just they way to win the elections. Based on the latest polls, it sure works for Bernie.

Juan Ibarra

Why would Bernie spend money on attacking Pete? This doesn't make any sense.

Sounds like Lgbtqnation is trying to make Pete part of the conversation again, its pathetic.
