To be more exact, two people contributed  6 figure sums to Our Revolution. No one is debating that.

I should have been more specific, I apologize. What conclusions can we draw about Bernie from Our Revolution taking money and not disclosing donors?

Bernie has 2.5 million. He's 78 and his salary in Congress, of which he worked for many years, has been 174,000. He also made money last year on a book. So what? He could easy have tens of millions by now if he wanted.

Well, I agree with Bernie's response - I also would prefer if they disclosed their donors and would welcome this change. In fact, some original members of the organization left once the current leader decided to operate like this. Bernie also left the group behind, so clearly there was some stuff going on that not everyone wanted to be a part of.

That being said, their reported reasoning is that they have donors who do not want to disclose their identities, but they do post the identities of many if not most of their donors online on their website or elsewhere actually. On top of that, the size of the donations they receive and their overall fundraising is quite miniscule compared to most super PACs or even regular PACs. For example, $500,000 in advertising into early primary states is gulfed by campaigns who are spending 10s of millions in those same states. I still believe - as he does - that dark money is a bad thing, but I also know that Bernie is not receiving corporate donations or doing fundraisers for his actual campaign, and he is not in contact with this organization (so he doesn't actually have a say over how they do business, if they decide to support him, etc.) This is different from many other candidates like Buttigieg and Biden who are doing fundraisers with wealthy corporate executives and elites with the implicit or even explicit purpose of raising money from powerful people. Those candidates, esp. Buttigieg have also compromised their policies in order to do so, which is the *problem* with Dark Money - it buys influence and power. This bothers me, but not as much as that, because I don't see it doing that. Bernie's not accepting money from big pharma lobbyists and corporations to change his views on things, this is people just supporting him and trying to get him elected of their own volition - even if I would rather it be transparent, unfortunately this nuance will be lost on some people.

 However, the article is wrong when it claims Our Revolution was founded to support "his candidacy" - it was formed to be a support group for progressives since there was a lot of momentum to energize and rally under in 2016 even after he lost and he didn't want the movement he had helped build just fade out - I'd argue it did that since he has more support this time around it seems..., but no, it isn't a "PAC for Bernie Sanders", its a PAC for progressives - and they are supporting Bernie because he is the strongest progressive in this race.

Funny enough, I've literally said this^ on here to some people pretending to be cute who have brought this up in the past as some kinda gotcha... like why are y'all all SO invested in trying to take on Sanders supporters and find flaws in everything we do/he does or says. He isn't perfect, hes just a hell of a lot better than the rest, and picking small things (most of which arent even directly things he has done and said, but that other people have  ) out every day won't make that not true. 90 is not 100, but its closer to 100 than 10 is, like  

(Also, no one here has literally ever said Sanders is perfect that I've ever seen, y'all project a bit too much I think  Like,  he's insanely better than the rest and meets my bare minimum - Warren did for a while as well - but no candidate is above reproach. Even major progressive outlets like TYT criticize Bernie on a somewhat regular basis  The difference is that we tend to criticize him on his politicking, not his policies or stances or beliefs. Asking Bernie to apologize for everything "bad" that some people who support him do is silly. If Bernie wasn't in this race, they would be doing this same thing for Elizabeth Warren and this story wouldn't have even been a thing

Like the OP has a serious vendetta against Bernie and or his supporters, and titling things "Bernie Sanders dark money you ask" is just blatant as hell In fact, some of you admit it. I don't have a problem with news being reported on, I just think its childish how some of you try to use news as a gotcha like its a personal attack or something.

Actually Warren deserved all the backlash she got for what she tried doing to Bernie. I don’t think it was petty. Bernie wanted her to run in 2016, and then leaked emails showed Warren was soliciting HILLARY CLINTON for VP. Then she wants to come out with a story about a conversation that happened a year ago, when the only people to witness this conversation were Bernie and Warren. She tried throwing a temper tantrum at the end of the last debate. NOT a good look. She deserves to fail after that.

I rooted for her, but I genuinely can’t believe what a failure she’s become.
