To All New Fans/Stans From Joanne/ASIB eras...

I've been a casual fan since just dance but didn't become a proper stan until the end of the Joanne era. This is my first time experiencing the exitement and meltdowns over leaks and an incoming album release.  

Some of you guys are f*cking crazy and I love it! lmao 

I'm very excited and a little anxious for what's to come.

Imo it was an ugly time. Enjoyed the album in the moment but the era itself was rough and people were hating more than ever before. makes me bummed to think it was the last time she'd invest energy into being a challenging pop star. That rock star energy in her died and was replaced by the energy of a retired diva being forced to make a young album for the kids.

I became a fan in 2017 so I experienced:

- The Cure surprised release at Coachella and the first Heal Me leak in 2017 Spring

- Joanne (Piano Version) MV and song in January 2018

- Your Song on Elthon's album and a bunch of unreleaseds that leaked that year

- the entire Shallow and ASIB era, the new I Want Your Love version, Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood, the Clover tease

Do I have to remind you when the wait between Born This Way announcement  and its release (4 months) was considered "long"? And all the fake snippets we got?

Nothing will ever top the hype and excitement from between TFM and BTW 

 

What made it even better was the fact that the era’s just blended into eachother, with the Monster Ball still continuing into the beginning of the Judas era. So there were constant new news and teases and whatnot. Ugh.

So I became a stan in 2015. I credit ARTPOP for that, but I wasn't a stan during the era. I started readingand listening more and more into Gaga, playing ARTPOP and I started to appreciate the project a lot more. 

Joanne was the first era I lived through as a stan. I didn't have any expectations, only that I knew the music would be good. I loved every moment of the Joanne era. 

A Star Is Born was an even bigger enjoyment for me. I get to see her on the big screen, and I get to hear that magnificent voice of hers blasting at me in a cinema. The acting was incredible, the soundtrack was a masterpiece... and then you had all the Oscar buzz around Gaga. It was incredible! And I got to see and hear stories from monsters on here about being extras, and seeing some photos of her on set at Coachella... then the final product 

That brings me to now. I have been waiting since Joanne for new music. Even though we had ASIB and I enjoyed it very much, I feel like the album isn't hers. Since 2017 I've been waiting, and finally we get Stupid Love.

If anyone knows me or my music tastes, they should know that I am a sucker for dance music with a big soulful vocal. I love hearing the soul while dancing away! Stupid Love gives me all of that! I love the disco influences, its dance, she sings soulfully even a little jazzy at parts, it sounds retro but still fresh... Stupid Love is one of my favourite Lady Gaga songs of all time. It is really all my music taste wrapped up in a song. I loved Joanne, but if this is how the era is starting off (sonically) then omg this is gonna trump Joanne
