Well the song is called stupid love so maybe that she wrote "stupid" lyrics on purpose. Bad Romance was about obsession with celebrity and how she wanted it with all the best and worst part of it. Maybe that now she just wants to do a kind of a commercial pop song, she wants that stupid love.

That was 2008. 12 years later, 33 years of age, I would expect Gaga to be writing much higher quality lyrics than what we’ve gotten with Stupid Love.

I've heard it in full, and its really a lot better than the snippets have shown. The lyrics, albeit simple, really work in the song and her voice in HQ is transcedent. It's "safe" but still a damn good song and a great way to introduce the era, the radio is gonna eat it up, the clubs are definitely gonna eat it up with that beat. BE happy yall, it feels like a return to form but at the same time this is the Gaga following the 1 billion Shallow global hit. She's gotta ease the world back into comfortability with Electro-pop Gaga, and it's going to work.

I live for these lyrics. It’s simple and can easily be related to for everyone who stupidly love someone. Personally speaking, I just met someone yesterday and I don’t think we can go any further so it’s a bit sad for me. That’s the emotion I can instant connect to through these lines. Sometimes we just need a song to help us unleash our desire. Unlike Applause, I don’t live for claps.

Except for the booty claps

Lord Temptation

Could LG6 be about forgiveness vs forgetting? I mean, so many of her songs since 2012 have been about hurt and pain. Maybe she she is saying love makes no sense and that’s why all of her recent tweets have seemed nonsensical.

ASIB, Joanne, Cheek To Cheek (covers but still), we have enough mature lyrics, time for some fun, calm down

It's one song... In an album that most likely has at least 12. And we're acting like she has never made songs with silly lyrics? Even in those albums you mentioned?

Also you not thinking ARTPOP has a message says a lot about what you consider to be stupid lyrics or not.

Isn't it super sensible and logical to overreact?

Calm down please.

Is it a message "could mean anything"?

She made, but she was younger, me too. And she was on repeat, "I'm 30, I'm a grown woman". And I was okay with that statement, cause I love the new direction, after ARTPOP. That's all.

And now, again:

oprah winfrey thank you GIF

Compared to her old music, her lyric these days are pretty basic.

But as long as the music is a bop. Who cares.
