Tulsi is actually well liked among younger people. Some not all will vote for Bernie even with Tulsi as VP. But Tulsi also will bring in the conservative anti-interventionists that would otherwise be turned off by Bernie and vote for Trump so net, net it'll be the same. And even better, the votes that take from Trump reduces his base and that's what we need.

You can't expect a handout from the government to pay your school, medical, etc. It's simply too expensive for our governement to pay for 100%. There's alot of us that paid our dues and worked for our success.

Pete has such a vast amount of problems that are are valid and worthy of being scrutinized. One of the biggest ones, in my opinion, is that if you go all the way to South Bend and talk to the African American community that makes up a decent amount of that town they absolutely hate him. They hate the way he’s handled and damaged the African American citizen-South Bend Police Department relationship. There is no trust in the city’s governance by the marginalized in his own town. What makes you think he would be effective in handling matters like that on a federal level. Anyways I’m wasting words at this point because he’s probably going to pull a laughable amount of delegates from Nevada and South Carolina thanks to the Latino and African American communities respectively.

 

I would say I’m surprised that a bunch of white gays overlook his relationship with the Black citizens of South Bend but then again, I’m not. Anything for vapid identity politics and a YES QUEEN moment from Pete.

I'm not white and I am gay. 🤣 The whole identity politics argument is sooooooo 2016. I'm pretty sure everyone is over it. There is nothing wrong with females feeling empowered is a woman is elected and there is nothing wrong with gays feeling empowered if a gay man is elected. Stop trying to dictate how people manage their pride. Just vote for your favorite candidate and let others vote for theirs with whatever issue is important to them.

HA. The government wastes TRILLIONS on a military budget annually that does nothing to protect us in fact it’d made matters worse on a global scale. But that’s a whole other discussion that I’d be happy to expand on.

Don’t worry sir, people like you and me who (I assume all of this) have college degrees and are now working professionals aren’t going to be hurt by Bernie’s tax on the rich. Trust me, you don’t make that much money.

The idea that people who will work JUST AS HARD in earning their advanced degree at a 4 year rigorous university didn’t “work for their success” just because the government paid for it is truly capitalism brainwashing you guys into thinking our things like schooling and healthcare need to be “earned”. Schooling cannot be earned without the hardwork people are putting into their coursework. Certainly sounds like paying your dues to me. As for healthcare I really hope I don’t have to sit here and explain to someone why healthcare....should be free.

I agree. To hear a gay man is running is empowering on the surface. Once you look at his policies, his past, and him as a person it’s clear that he does not represent me.

You're right I am not upper income but I have worked hard for what I have. I am not looking for the government to provide things that I should be providing for myself like education and medical care. Pete is not responsible for institutionalized racism or poverty. He did a great job as mayor. He is running on his record with great success. The other candidates recognize his potential as does NH and most likely NV and to some extent SC. He's a newcomer and he'll make mistakes but he's a great guy from all indications. I do not support candidates blindly. I could care less what he looks like. I like his message and that message is resonating in this country.

Honestly it's funny to me that everyone calling a gay mayor millenial from a small mid-sized Indiana town in a red state is the establishment of the Democratic Party, and Bernie, a white straight male, who is so old he is near death and has been playing the "alt-card" for decades in federal power is somehow magically not part of the machine. 

Bernie is "alt" in the way there was that one kid in the popular group in high school that was still a little edgy. Ultimately...he's still been hanging around the problem for decades and he is human. 

Yall think Bernie can beat Trump? Doubt it. He isnt as big as he was in 2016. He is literally in poor physical health already. And all it will take is for the GOP to use the "scary socialist" word to frighten middle of the road voters....voters who mostly primarily live in the midwest...the states most important to beat Trump. 

I'm from Ohio. And I'm telling you, my blue collar friends and family from Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Pennsylvania will ultimately swing towards supporting a second term president with a "good economy" than go stump for a dude with heart issues and suggests borderline socialist policies. 

Yall from the East and West coasts think in terms of the East and West Coast and think people are warming up to those ideas....there they are...but ultimately the rust belt of swing states will not vote in Bernie at this time. It just ain't gonna happen. I dont care what the polls say. 

The only liberal enough places in the midwest to ever vote that way across the board are Chicago, Illinois and Columbus, Ohio. 

That being said....Iowa was the 2nd state to pass gay marriage. Buttigieg is literally from Indiana....a state that borders Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, and Illinois. 

And him being a military vet only works in his favor even more. 

There might be some evangelical nutjobs....but the midwest is way more down with the gays than they are socialism. 

To the average swing state voter I just think more people are willing to look past "reserved gay" than "dying socialist".
