I think it'll be fine. If anything, I'm just disappointed that we won't get to see what Derrickson envisioned for this movie, largely because he's the main guy responsible for the first one being so good.

I don't think the tone of the movie is gonna shift that far cause like, they already said it's gonna be an horror movie, they can't go back with that. Maybe the director wanted full on horror and Marvel wanted AHS horror but still it's gonna be horror to an extent.

Things will start to take shape once Black Widow drop, best believe it! :sis:

Idk, I just have a gut feeling Marvel's first Justice Legue sized flop is just around the corner (and most likely it's gonna be Eternals) :emma:

I guess after a decade of major good luck they have to have some bad luck now. Ngl I’m dissapointed because I was hoping they’d go with the horror aspect he wanted and show Wanda’s decent into madness

ok, this news pulled me down from the hype of LG6 currently happening. I just feel sad about scott because he was the first director for Doctor Strange. He made a trippy Marvel film  that we never expected. But if they do go with a different direction other than horror, I hope it will be successful like how Thor became from worst to one of the best films in MCU.

I hope Eternals won’t flop because 1) it has Angelina in it and I’m excited to see her in an MCU film and 2) The Eternals help with introducing the Xmen into the MCU finally 😩 I’m most excited for Eternals and was for DS2

Right, I don't think they're going to turn back on their word; this will most likely be a PG-13 action adventure movie with some comedy, but also some dark/scary sequences. Derrickson, coming from a horror background, probably really wanted to make it as "horror" as it could be, but Feige wasn't having that.

Also though, I know your second comment wasn't addressed towards me, but I can't help myself from commenting on it  I don't think Eternals will do great, but I also don't think it'll flop. It really depends on the trailers and marketing because almost no one knows a thing about these characters. Disney/Marvel will really need to step it up in terms of making this film seem appealing.

Oh, I still fully believe we're going to get Wanda's decent into madness, because a lot of that mainly deals with WandaVision. I'm also sure that they'll probably end up keeping a lot of what Derrickson wanted, considering he's still going to be an Executive Producer, that said, of course they'll have to change some things here and there.

I hope nothing flops and I'm wrong :poot: But lesbionest, it's the one of biggest flop potential :bradley:

I mean they turned one of the worst comics imo and least interesting teams into well loved films (GOTG) and Avengers was never big nor did it have that long of a run as comics or had a big audience bc X-Men and Fantastic Four were always the biggest teams and comics alongside Spider-Man. So anything is possible at this point. I’d say Black Widow has the most flop potential because it’s ScarJo and nobody really cared about Natasha that much unless it was the potential romance with Banner tbh (I’m still mad they basically just retconned it entirely and killed her off).

FF and X-Men reboots have flop potential when they finally come too because if they’re not taken from the source material heavily and done right fans will be PRESSED (me included I NEED a dramatic scene of Jean attempting to pilot the space shuttle to earth and save everyone when The Phoenix Force comes to save her in my life)

Sounds like he took a page from Gaga and her producers each time she makes the first version of an album :ladyhaha:

This is for like the 3 hardcore Marvel fans on here (including myself). Scott Derrickson confirmed himself on his twitter that he is indeed parting ways with Marvel due to "creative differences". What do you guys think about this?

Personally, I'm at a loss for words. WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness are my two most anticipated projects coming out of Marvel Phase 4. Even though he's still going to be involved, I'm incredibly saddened by the fact that his vision for DS2 will no longer be executed. I also hope that this doesn't delay the release date, because I can't wait any longer for this film!

Scott Derrickson is stepping down as director of Marvel’s “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” Variety has learned.

The studio confirmed his departure in a statement, attributing it to “creative differences.” Derrickson, who oversaw the first “Doctor Strange,” will remain as an executive producer.

“Marvel Studios and Scott Derrickson have amicably parted ways on ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ due to creative differences,” Marvel said in a statement to Variety. “We remain grateful to Scott for his contributions to the MCU.”

Derrickson also said the decision was mutual.

Well, it is normal to have that feeling for Unknown source material. People feel that way too with Guardians, and Ant-Man yo an extent. I mean, those titles were like a deep cut that only hardcore fans knew. At worst it might still sell as much or more than Ant-Man does. And that is already good tbh. I think Marvel and Disney will have lower projections on the new titles anyway at the beginning.

I don't see Black Widow really flopping, like, it may not do a billion but it's not gonna underperform for sure. Also, people have been asking for X-Men and FF movies done by Marvel for so long that I say it's almost impossible for it to be a comercial failure (if comic fans will like it is a whole other story :poot:).

The thing with Eternals is not that it is unknown, it is that it's weird :green: Or they make it super palatable to the audiences or it's gonna be almost uncomprehensible and flop real bad :bradley:

With all the star powers in the cast, I really doubt it will do really bad tbh. Also, if the story turns out to be good, the word of mouth will definitely prevails. We will have to see.  So far there are no competition on its release date as well.
