She did the best with the kind of role she had. Her performance was really impressive for someone with her name who was coming from the music industry (the movie industry really doesn't seem to like singers going into movies) the fact that she was such a big threat to someone like a Glenn Close for example who has a lot of acting experience is a big deal.
