Oyster 2,458
I have seen a lot of hate towards Ariana Grande in various threads and I'm curious as to why the hate. I'm not an Ariana Grande Stan but I definitely enjoy her work since dangerous woman. She's got a fantastic voice, a diverse range of tracks (R&B, Pop, Trap, Hip Hop, Lo-fi), and she has differentiated herself from the basic aspects that would regularly define a pop star. I love that each one of her albums is very different stylistically. I think she's super sexy, a bad bitch, an amazing vocalist, a strong person, and a great songwriter. Why the hate? Widows Kiss 7,818
Every artist receives their fair share of hate on here and Ariana is no exception.

sillynate 6,170
I don’t hate her. I just don’t click with some of her music. I love ALL her singles (Hearts Up to buwyb, tlic included). There’s a lot of music diversity in just her singles alone. I’ve given sweetener and tun a listen and I only like the singles + sweetener (the song) i feel like DW would be worth a listen but I haven’t gotten around to it the others scream generic to me but that’s just me judging a book by its cover

Didymus 34,379
Many basic pop fans here think all contemporary R&B is basic, boring and unworthy of any critical praise. It reminds me of when Beyoncé released self-titled. The majority of GGD bashed it for being a trainwreck, showcasing their complete inability to enjoy music which isn't made for tweens born in the late '90s, i.e. doesn't have a recurring beat and and/or typical songwriting structure. It's really nothing more than that. Just add a little bit of jealousy for her success in there and there you have your recipe for so many members here hating on her. It's pathetic, really, especially when Ari has made such a humongous effort to become more interesting and complex musically. Ironically GGD prefers her far more basic past efforts, pretending songs like Love Me Harder are the real deal. A laugh.

I find musical evolutions like ari’s and beyoncé’s to be very rewarding and i also love gaga because of the complexity behind her music. i can’t do katy perry, britney spears, and the basic ****. i just don’t get it. it’s catchy but gets boring after two listens. i’m proud of ari for being so successful while evolving and don’t understand the hate

LUO YI 6,089
Idk but I tried listening to TU,N once again and I liked almost the entire album. I think people really influenced me, I usually listen before reading any reviews but when she released it I didn’t. The night sky tells all
LilyLark 10,079
Eh, a lot of people on here like her. I would say there are way more people being harsh about Billie and Beyonce, and even they have their defenders (I love Bey). But yeah, people on here tend to be catty about every artist—even Gaga. Quartz 12,493
I know right. She's relatively not as problematic than the others, and her music is good. I guess her being a 'threat' makes her a target. Pathetic, really. Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

Floppy 7,951
Pop fans usually don't like urban or RnB songs and her last two albums especially are full of 90s and ear 2000s. Also she's been getting A LOT of acclaim that's when stans seem to attack EVERY artist lol. Katy and prism Nicki after pink print Gaga after BTW Miley after bangerz There's a million examples. Rihanna and Beyoncé are the only ones that avoided a hate train.
FfFfFfFF 55,242
She doesn't stand for anything deep or interesting and I get the diva vibes from her very clearly (I imagine her being rude off stage and the many times we heard about fans being dissapointed after meeting her can correlate with this). All her releases are overwhelming as bodies of work and fail to be interesting start to finish and her super breathy voice and ennounciation make many songs not flow well, though she has many great and enjoyable songs scattered across her albums. She is very little involved in the composition of her music and relies on other songwriters and producers to make music. And even so she always mostly sings about vapid teeny stuff and relationships. Her voice is good but not that good and def. overrated by music fans. She is not on par with Celine, Whitney, Mariah, Beyonce or Gaga regardless of what her impressionable fans might think. Whistles don't make a voice qualitative. On top of that, add her annoying super defensive and impressionable young (for the most part) fanbase. Voila.
