Indeed, over the 2010s, when she definitely was one of pop's most mega of stars, she only hit the Hot 100's top 10 twice — and her lone No. 1 hit came when she hopped on a track by jack-of-all-trades moppet Ed Sheeran.

well it's not a lie

You cannot be mad at people shading ARTPOP when Gaga herself does it or totally ignores its songs minus "Applause"  :huntyga:

I know you're just making fun of the situation but the "I don't remember ARTPOP" tweet was a light-hearted joke tho and comparing it to the slander the album's been put through even after all these years don't make no sense. Gaga fought harder for ARTPOP than anyone else. These publications are a bunch of clowns who can't write about our girl without discrediting her work and giving her backhanded compliments, that's what always gets us riled up.

Are these people still trying to drag ARTPOP  it's been 7 years.... :messga: They literally called it PERFORMANCE ART GIBBERISH and then alluded to it being in-authentic.... Usually when Gaga is at her most "messy" it's because she's actually a mess mentally and it comes out in her music/ art which is so obvious that's how art works. Gaga's discography and in-authentic don't really go together .  Y'all saw the YouTube Awards Dope performance and SXSW Swine performance.

We don't know any of that. You can't tell somebody's tone just by reading.

Maybe so but at least let's admit that jumping to thinking that she's shading the album is just as far-fetched.

Gaga has been a troll since the beginning all these tweets she's been making fall right in line with her since of humor that she's had literally since the beginning of her career. I'm convinced anyone who doesn't get it isn't really a stan OR dont pay much attention to her personality past a few performances and interviews.

"But on its followup, 2013’s “ARTPOP,” she seemed to lose the plot, its halfhearted songs backed by her puddle-deep proclamations of being a serious artist. This foray into performance-piece gibberish wound up being a perfect setup for her rise back into capital-a Authenticity, though, beginning with 2016’s “Joanne,” which wasn’t as countrified as the pink 10-gallon hat she wore on its cover implied but which did contain a couple of stirring piano ballads."

 Yee-nawh.

A privileged New York City theater kid who went to Tisch School of the Arts releases her fourth high-concept dance album centered around art, utilizing every bit of performance art she had mastered over her career: not authentic.

That same privileged New York theater kid puts on a ten gallon hat and starts singing about horses with a twang: OhmyyourSOauthentic!

Read: Anything glittery and ***gy is inherently inauthentic, and rock and country music is inherently more legitimate. Disco Sucks never died. ARTPOP was ambitious. ARTPOP, like Born This Way, The Fame Monster, and The Fame delivered a message. She had something to say. Joanne is a lovely honey lensed nostalgia trip designed to legitimize herself to people who thought she was too queer. I guess it worked.
