Her music was genre-bending. Gaga has yet to top her performances in terms of technical ability. Are y’all really this delusional? Not trying to discredit her effort but visual albums have been a thing for decades. Even Kanye had one in 2010 and Lana in 2013 so it was nothing new for the decade

But no, I wouldn't actually contact them, I'm not even American, this doesn't affect me. But the least I can do is harmlessly comment on a pop forum about it, right? I'd only send a formal complaint about something actually worthwhile. wow everything you’ve been saying makes perfect sense now.
Madling 1,981
Y'all do realize that it's just a bunch of office workers voting for this right... Their opinion is no more important than ours. I don't think we have to pick any one person because no one artist defined the decade. It's stupid to say that.

And the Beyoncé one went viral back in the days. It has nothing to do with the racism you're implying. That's literally how we're calling Dua Lipa, Dula Peep. It's just humor I usually see Beyonka, whenever someone uses the name on twitter, followed up by some racist sh*t. Not always, but a lot of the time. A lot of people see it as racist—not just the Beyhive, as I've seen it called out on twitter before. Perhaps it started out that way, but for most it rings like a racist attempt to "ghettoize" her name (e.g. Bianca as Beyonka, or unique spellings of traditionally Black names). Dula Peep doesn't have the same connotations.

I can't with people being so salty over Bey winning some fan voted thing. Like even if it wasn't fan voted, it's absolutely reasonable to understand, at least in the U.S., that she's had a major cultural impact and to understand even if she isn't the best selling artist—she still sells a h*ll of a lot (at least in the US) and when you combine that with her presence in the GP it makes sense to say she's had the most impact. Also, I don't get how people don't understand sales doesn't necessarily equal cultural impact. Bruce Springsteen is one of the most influential artists of all time, and he's never had a #1 on BB100. Adele outsells everyone, and yet she has less #1s with three albums than Katy Perry did with her first three albums.

It's just that people don't see it as proof you have an impact but rather as proofs you had plenty of buzz so why represent people as "in denial" when they simply disagree with you cause they think your point miss the mark? 10 hours ago, KingRedd said: . Even though Beyoncé has had the best moments and has been super Influential Who had the "best moments" will differ according to who you ask and folks here keep repeating she was super influential without giving much proofs of it, even pushing for a buzz moments list as a proof. 10 hours ago, KingRedd said: I wonder why Bey is the subject to all the hate? Yet Tay and Adele can sell millions and never get questioned? Tay never get questioned? You re-write the story here. 10 hours ago, KingRedd said: But yeah let’s say Bey hasn’t done anything lmao lame Literally nobody said that or even remotely close. Are you suggesting that because I'm not American that I don't know anything about their culture or why someone is popular there? Because I've been researching and consuming American culture and media for years, to the point where I'm extremely Americanised myself. I fully understand why Beyonce is popular in the US and why her influence is felt. I just think it's a bit overblown especially when it comes to how successful and influential she is on a global scale. Reality is that her relevancy has been easing off worldwide after Sasha Fierce and has never returned. Ever wondered why she hasn't toured in Asia for a decade (where she used to perform in stadiums)? So, how can she be the most influential when she can no longer influence an entire continent that once supported her to buy her new work? 3 hours ago, Sepsami said: T my mom thought she wasn't making songs anymore Gotta be honest, if I didn't follow Beyonce and modern music in general and listen to so many albums, I would legit not have much of a clue about her current material for the last decade. Because you can only hear it if you have a streaming subscription and she doesn't promote, she just wouldn't be on my radar. Even in the UK, which has always supported her, she hasn't done proper promo here since 2011, she only comes here once in a blue moon to do a tour date, nothing else. She thinks she's too good. This exclusive approach to music is slowly shooting her in the foot, if recent sales of her joint album, live album and soundtrack are anything to go by. People are no longer feeling like she's worth having this air of exclusivity and like she's worthy of getting her entire album bought without even listening to it first. Edonis 28,950
I'm not reading 7 pages of meltdowns, hate, and annoyances from the same obsessed Beyonce haters that jump to every thread about her to write essays and think pieces. And while not globally, she did have impact on discussions of race, police brutality, and helped bring the BLM movement in mainstream music in the States. I don't expect some of y'all to realize that, and that's okay.
