SeasonOfTheWitch 3,789
Can you tell when someone became a monster based off the way they act/their tastes (like Gen x, gen z, etc.)? If yes, how would you group them?

DC 25,164
Technically I was a fan for all of these eras, my mom and I used to listen to Poker Face all the time in 2009. 2010 my mom got The Fame album and we used to listen to songs like Paparazzi, Just Dance, Boys Boys Boys. 2012 I LOVED the song BTW, but I didn't know what it was actually talking about since I was like 8 and didn't really care much about the meanings of songs yet and only liked what was "hip" and "new" 2013 I first heard Applause on the radio when me and my dad were driving around St. Paul, and I actually really liked it! 2014 I heard Telephone, Monster, and Paper Gangsta as they played randomly in my moms car through iTunes and I feel IN LOVE again! Telephone had me in tears cause it just sounded so emotional to me, still does sometimes In 2015 I got addicted to the song Venus Early 2017 and my mom got the Joanne album and we listened to it constantly in the car and even at home a lot. When we used to clean our apartment she'd turn on songs like Grigio Girls and Just Another Day, I loved it! Still love the songs But it wasn't until mid-2017 when I started to discover her, like looking through the albums and stuff. I gave ARTPOP a listen and was immediately attached to Sexxx Dreams... Listen, I was 13 And I heard Judas for the first time and LOOOOOVED it!!!! Like it was the song I needed to hear! I bet @KatieJudasGaga4 could relate Sorry, but I just automatically associate Judas with Katie August 21st, 2017, I went to the Joanne World Tour at the Xcel and it was the BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE!!!! So I would say I actually became a Little Monster in 2017, what generation would that make me?

Mikolaj 11,635
You could group them surprisingly easily. Here's my take on this. The veteran fans (2008-2013) I'm putting them all in one group because they all are characterized by their love for electropop, DarkGa and anything WeirdGa. They came for the music and spectacle, possibly stayed because they recognized the raw talent and message underneath Gaga's art. Spoiler I also included ARTPOP but I think many more fans departed rather than arrived to the fanbase back then. The latecomers (2015-2016) The fans that weren't here for the WeirdGa but took greater interest in her when she departed from her shock-factor driven persona and showed her amazing versatility through Cheek to Cheek and Joanne. They appreciate the 2008-2013 period but mostly wouldn't be here for return of anything resembling that style. The New Generation (2018 onwards) A growing portion of fans and a trend that I hope will continue. ASIB put Gaga back in the spotlight again and helped her reach audiences previously disinterested in her. And there's more to help them stay than ever - great performances, fantastic vocals, choreographies, many different genres, accumulated over the past 10 years. If the next era is a significant success, we will see a flood of new fans who missed out on Gaga before and will wonder where have they been all these years.
