I love this comment so much. As someone that has struggled with my weight all my life, if someone is intentionally losing weight, it’s a reason to celebrate. Losing weight is hard work. I hate that someone’s value is placed on their weight though. I struggle with feeling like I’m being judged constantly. I also struggle with feeling like I’m beautiful like my husband always tells me I am. she/her/hers
Siena 6,268
This may trigger a lot of people but it isn’t good to be overweight and it isn’t healthy at all. Adele worked hard to loose weight and become healthier so kudos to her I’m sure it wasn’t an easy process for her, and she’s clearly feeling herself. As long as she’s not suddenly unhealthily underweight then complement her all you want
weed 73,868
This dynamic can exist in everything. Don’t congratulate your friend for finally getting rid of acne, bc people still have acne! Don’t congratulate them for getting #1, think of those that didn’t win! I agree to an extent depending on how she’s praised though
LaLuna 12,732
Wanting to become healthier and feel good about yourself is problematic now? As long as she lost that weight in a healthy way, I don't see what the problem is.
insight 2,435
It takes effort, will and perseverance to lose weight; not so much when you gain it. Good for Adele!

Basically this ∆∆∆∆∆ I see people working their asses off to lose weight it's not easy especially if genetics are not in your favour or if you struggle with stress eating or whatever the reasons for the weight struggle may be So it's really unmotivating and hurtful when ppl are somehow put down for their body But it's also good to encourage people to try their best to be their healthiest selves and to not just giveup or not bother to try, after all few things are more valuable than your health My problem with this tweet is shes only acknowledging half the picture. She obviously doesn't like people being body shamed which is great but she's also practically implying that if you loose weight your basically a sellout because you should be happy about who you are and you don't need to do anything. That modern view that a few ppl have I don't think is very balanced. You can love yourself with your struggles and no matter your weight or how you look while still having health goals. If you achieve them all the more awesome and if you don't, at least ur putting an effort in the right direction.
Hades 27,980
Why is it so important in the first place? She's not the first or the last human to lose weight.

Probably some bitter jealous person who made this tweet tbh Anyone who's truly a supporter and cheering on people who struggle with weight would be happy and congratulate that she succeeded not slam her for her weight loss There's nothing supportive about that

I also struggle with feeling like I’m beautiful like my husband always tells me I am. You’re beautiful! period! And I know how you feel from the other side of the weight table, I was very skinny, like a walking skeleton but I always ate normal, until 25 years old I was 45 kilos (!!!) it was struggling to be rejected all the time or to barely being able to lift 1 kilo of sugar, I looked sick to people, but only my husband actually told me that I’m beautiful and when I decided that it’s time to gain weight he supported me a lot and I never saw a change in his attraction and love to me. I just learned that no matter what people will just judge you, they are searching for your flaws and ready to use them against you, be strong and learn to ignore them. So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

She’s not slamming Adele, she’s talking about other people’s reactions and tabloids because no one actually knows if it was intentional and in a healthy way. If it was - great, if it wasn’t, it’s not so inspiring. Everyone talks about health, but let’s be honest, most just think thinner body looks better. She was overweight before, not morbidly obese and she was beautiful before too. FreePalestine
