Do What U Want (better handled)

Gypsy

Maybe Dance In The Dark

Nothing On (But The Radio) with better lyrics

Although Gaga's discography is full of great gems I don't see any other big hit potential tbh

Saint Gaga

"Dance in the dark"

"Bloody Mary as" Halloween single

"Do what you want" feat. Weeknd

"Gypsy" as final single with a tour video

Joanne had zero hits in it.

"I'll never love again " might have been a big hit if they pushed it as the lead singke released around winter time

Considering the # of streams it has received, the fanbase support surrounding it, and its overall acclaim - landing a 'Song of the Year' Grammy nod despite not being a fully-released single in the U.S., the #1 answer is absolutely "Always Remember Us This Way."

I keep saying I won't repeat myself, but seriously, if this song was pushed to radios within 2 weeks of the Oscars along with a re-release of the soundtrack that featured "Shallow (live)," "I'll Never Love Again (radio)", and "Clover (full)," with no dialogue and MVs for ARUTW and INLA at the very least, she would have grabbed a 2nd #1 Hot100 song off ASIB, and would be the frontrunner for AOTY, SOTY (ARUTW), Pop Solo (ARUTW), Song Written for Visual Media (INLA), and Compilation Soundtrack at the upcoming Grammys. I think that, if promo'd properly, several other songs from ASIB could have done well on the charts or with the GP including INLA, ITA, and BIC, but ARUTW has the actual numbers from streams, sales, and award nominations to suggest it would have absolutely been a smash and may have outperformed "Shallow."

Other Eras:

If the goal was to rack up BBHot 100 chart #'s, then songs from The Fame such as 'Boys, Boys, Boys,' 'Starstruck,' and even 'The Fame' would have all charted top 10 given Gaga's popularity at the time. All are danceable bops and with a well-done, 'quirky' music video, and at least 1 iconic performance of each, she was pretty invincible.  However, these songs weren't on the level of future songs that were held back and if released, may have created overexposure to Gaga sooner than it hit, negatively impacting TFM and the earlier parts of BTW eras.

My criteria is a combination of:

1) which songs would have given a more coherent vision of each album/era if they were released

2) which songs would have resonated given the trends of music at that time/after

3) which songs would have given Gaga better opportunities in the future/mitigated "problematic" time periods

4) which songs would have helped build Gaga's legacy of a discography and videography that is unique, artistic, meaningful, quirky, and versatile

The Fame Monster:

1. She should have included Nothin On (But the Radio), Freakshow, No Way, and/or Animal to continue the Fame theme and to include a few more HQ tracks to wash away its EP branding totally.

2. Regardless of the tracklist, she should have released 4 singles in the U.S.; what other popstar would stop their era at 3 singles... at their peak... when all 3 charted top 5? TFM was when every Gaga single, every Gaga video, and every Gaga move was a moment. I would have absolutely done a full release of DITD.

BR (#1 - #3) > Telephone (#3) > Alejandro (#5) > DITD (#3 -#10)

Born This Way:

1. Marry the Night - Gaga's passion for the song was so evident in every performance, the video, the lyrics, etc. and if it were the lead single building up to the BTW Grammy debut, it would have hit #1 easily and given a preview to the rock-influenced, "I was born to be a legend" sound of the album.

2. Edge of Glory - the fact this song is always 1 tier below her 'greatest hits' collection is a sin, since despite the Judas setback, despite the overpromo of the BTW album, despite the competition with 'Hair' as a promo single, and despite a MV release, it STILL almost reached #1.

3. Scheibe - without having to piece together an era after damage control was needed following the Judas controversy and EOG mishaps, Scheibe, with a shortened intro, would have hit hard. Scheibe is 100% Gaga -- danceclub smash, ridiculous yet meaningful lyrics, and infectious sound.

MTN (#1) > BTW (#1) > EOG (#1) > Scheibe (#3 - 10) > You and I (#3 - #10)

ARTPOP:

1. DWUW, released solo or with any other collaborator, would have been a steady top 10 once the video dropped as had been predicted; the era would have gone on without the backage DWUW brought to it

2. Sexxx Dreams/MANiCURE were each fun, totally cool songs that would have done really well (top 10).

3. Gypsy, either as the finale to a better era, or as the final single of an era of ups and downs as it were, should have been the final single off ARTPOP. Why this wasn't done is one of a dozen 'WTF' moments to me -- this song would have at least given the era a relatable, anthemic song to close it out and perhaps give Gaga some positive press and recognition before bidding it adieu.

Applause (#1 - #5) > DWUW (#1 - #10) > MANiCURE (#6 - #15) > Gypsy (#5 - #24)

JOANNE:

1. Diamond Heart encompasses all of the sounds of the album, IMO, and relates a personal message that is believable and more convinvcing than anything that was tried during this era.

Diamond Heart (#4 - #9) > Million Reasons (#3 - #12) > Perfect Illusion (#6 - #20) > Joanne (Piano; limited)

Off topic but

Brooklyn nights should be the lead of LG6, a perfect uptempo ballad like this by Gaga would crash everything and stay #1 for month

-----

Manicure (itunes festival version) would have been a cute hit

Diamond Heart should have been the lead of Joanne, second single Joanne, then PI, then million reasons

Dance in the dark is a legendary song, feels like a worldwide hit while listening to it
