I'm still going to see it, but yeahhhh. I really wish they had gone in a totally different direction with this adaptation. Character designs, (CGI vs makeup and prosthetics) pretty much the *entire* cast except for Jennifer Hudson and Ian McKellen.

I knew something was odd when I noticed there were no pre-release reviews. Like the makers really didn’t want any bad press before the release dates. 

Movies that are actually good will get previews and early reviews as this builds excitement. Obviously the effect is the opposite when the movie is received poorly so most companies won’t bother with early reviews.
