Trillion Reasons

It's obviously that they were enjoying each other during this performance, and that's great! :vegas:

If a song have to change literally every one of the male lines to be tolerable, maybe just not even do it?

All the changes are bunch of PC buzz phrases. Cringe fest :laughga:

They always sound great together. American Idol really struck gold with Kelly. I don't think TV singing competitions would even be a thing if Kelly's career didn't take off in the 2000s (singing competitions were already dead before AI).

No, Kelly and John changed the lyrics so that its more PG I guess?

Here are some of the lyrics:

Say, what's in this drink? (No cab's to be had out there)
I wish I knew how (Your eyes are like starlight now)
To break this spell (I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell)
I ought to say, "No, no, no, sir" (Mind if I move in closer?)
At least I'm gonna say that I tried (What's the sense of hurtin' my pride?)

Its two couples teasing each other and playing hard to get.

They should’ve done their version of Run Run Run, literally one of my fave cover versions and they sound so beautiful together

I'm no fan of the original but to change it this much just to be PC is so cringey. That "it's your body, your choice" line made me clench everything. If the song's that bad, don't change it to make it better. Just leave it to the sands of time. Write a new song if you must but don't try to sweeten something sour. In a way, it makes it sound worse! It's like those songs that change the f word to "love" for the clean version!
