Hillary on Bernie: "He hurt me"

She was weaker in the general than she would have been if Bernie was quicker to endorse her and didn't come for her so hard in the primary. She's stating a fact. Whether or not it's justified is not relevant.

Well...here comes an anti-Bernie campaign from the DNC all over again...

Former First Lady of the United States. Now card-carrying member of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

He barely touched her in the primary. He literally gave away the email scandal in the first debate.

He also endorsed her only a few weeks after Clinton endorsed Obama in 2008. Sanders stayed in to push the Democratic party to adopt a more progressive platform, while Clinton literally claimed that she needed to stay in the race in case Obama was assassinated.

The idea that Bernie hurt her, the idea that the 2016 primary was some sort of brutal slugfest that left her damaged, has always been ridiculous. 2008 was infinitely more acidic, to the extent that Clinton's campaign literally circulated a photo of Obama in "muslim garb" to try to scare people into thinking that he was some sort of outsider. Clinton and Obama openly trashed one another on the campaign trail, by name. Despite all of that, Obama still went on to win in a landslide. If she couldn't beat Trump in one of the most winnable elections in modern history, that's on her. Shifting blame onto Bernie is insane.

He campaigned for her but fooled no one. He disliked her and many of his voters did not vote or voted for the other guy. Let's not forget his base is white. And whites is what she lost. He either could have helped or hurt. He did not help.

This was a categorically false narrative put forth by her campaign that erases the many POC and women that supported his candidacy in 2016. He had a mixed base then just as he does now. She just had more POC, especially African Americans, supporting her than he did - like Biden does now - for some reason when they have records on race like they do. Now, Sanders has the most Latinx support of any candidate running and his base is made up of more women than men. Leave that false sh!t in the past.

I am so tired of hearing people say that he was vicious to her in the primary. He was way nicer to her than Obama ever was. And for yall to sit there and act like he should have just let her win uncontested and without any kind of fight is ridiculous.

Hillary did the same thing to Obama and yet guess what? Obama won. Because he was still a good candidate. She lost because she wasn't.

The Bernie bros dont like again the truth. :huntyga: She was asked a question. She answered with the truth. Bernie was a factor. it wasn't the only thing that helped Trump, but he and some of his supporters were there to hurt her. No matter how much u dont like it, this is history and it won't be ever erased no matter how much u come after her with your insecurities and shame.

No matter how much you want Hillary to be a progressive, twice as many people who supported her over Obama chose a Republican instead. But it was ok then because it wasn’t the Orange boogeyman.

But we are talking about the past. And here you are speaking about the present and convoluting the whole thing because you are emotional invested. Hispanics and Black voters voted for Hillary.

Trump got black and Hispanic votes too but no one is crazy enough to say we were his base. WHITES were his base. Vermont, a state made up of 96% whites.... that's his base.
