And here you are speaking about the present and convoluting the whole thing because you are emotional invested. Hispanics and Black voters voted for Hillary. Trump got black and Hispanic votes too but no one is crazy enough to say we were his base. WHITES were his base. Vermont, a state made up of 96% whites.... that's his base. Being emotionally invested has nothing to do with the fact that it was categorically wrong. He had Black, Asian, and Latinx + women supporters in 2015/2016. It may not have translated int to as many votes as someone who had astronomical name recognition as a Clinton, but they were there and they did like him. He gained every time they learned about him. To erase those supporters, especially with the BS "White Bernie Bro" narrative was and still is racist and misogynistic to this day.

Bernie was a factor. it wasn't the only thing that helped Trump, but he and some of his supporters were there to hurt her. No matter how much u dont like it, this is history and it won't be ever erased no matter how much u come after her with your insecurities and shame. It was a primary. It's a competition. He was there to win and defeat Trump. If you can't defend yourself or your increasingly sh!tty record in a very mild primary compared to the brutal one that you ran in in 2008, then maybe you shouldn't be running. What was supposed to be an easy Democratic primary while the crowded Republican primary was a trainwreck turned into a divided Democratic party that was more damaged than the Republican party was with Trump. It’s my firm belief that if Hillary ran pretty much uncontested, we wouldn’t have a President Trump. But whatever that’s behind us. It’s pretty much 2020 now and we need to focus on the future. You’re against democracy then. Primaries exist for a reason and to suggest that voters need to fall in line with what elites choose for us is completely dangerous. Edit: and your “firm belief” is nothing but a display of ignorance about the state of American politics. Hillary’s direct role in pushing the agendas of the military industrial complex, global corporatism, and complete abandonment of the working class in the US is what lost her the election. Not Bernie. Not Jill Stein. Trump is the result of a broken system perpetuated by Neoliberals like her.
StarstruckIllusion 53,708
L M A O she really allowed herself to say “he huwt my feewings 🥺🥺” after she literally cheated him out of winning the primary. It’s just so funny to me...
gagzus 25,122
I think no matter what the senate wouldn’t have allowed a democrat to win after having one for 8 years beforehand. And what happened then and is happening now in the west in general- it was a warning sign, what the republicans and Conservatives have done so far are all warnings but if they win again it’ll only get worse. Also, BBC news just announced Trump’s impeachment is going ahead which means y’all might get Mike Pence yet which is worse 💀
Ziggy 14,302
ok but like we can like Sanders and still acknowledge that his campaign hurt hers which it did lol Like, objectively, yes, his campaign did damage to hers. It was all accurate, but that's not really the point. Again, just purely reflecting on the terms of the campaign, by Bernie being more left than Hillary and running he hurt her campaign. I like Bernie much more than her, but that *is* true even if it's framed in a not-so-good way by her and others.

Regardless of party and period in American history, competitive primaries have ALWAYS led to the eventual nominee being damaged and the party being divided in varying degrees depending on the primary in question. 2016 was on the farther end of that spectrum. I think you’re reading too much into my comment. Even leftists who hate Hillary have to admit that his primary challenge damaged her. Isn’t that the whole point of him challenging her? To point out the differences in their policies and prove why he is a better choice for democratic voters. I don’t know how you misconstrued my statement into “Bernie bad!!! Hillary should have been HANDED the nom” Nope. His campaign hurt hers. Her campaign hurt his and the party would have been just as divided if he won. You know moderate voters would have stayed home/voted 3rd party had he won. Also I’m voting for Bernie, not that it’s any of your business, so you can cut the superiority complex and claims of my “ignorance”.

Users here like Ms. @Postboy trying to make it seem like those who are agreeing with her are just “neoliberal hacks!!!1!!1!”. Fun fact: Once the ‘20 Dem primary narrows down to a 3 way race who ever wins will have been damaged by the other 2 campaigns.
ItsTommyBitch 12,640
Hillary and Bernie appealed to different people. That Hillary took the votes of certain essential states and demographics as for granted is entirely her and her teams fault, and it is also their fault that they did not make concessions or try to get Bernie supporters to join her. She was inflexible and expected his endorsement alone to do all of the work for her. That is entirely the politicians fault, you cant NOT even try appeal to people, expect them to fall in line, and then blame then when they don't vote for you, that's absolutely ridiculous. The worst part is that he didn't have to endorse her, but hes clearly not an egotistical person, so he did. He endorsed her open heartedly, canvassed and rallied for her, and explicitly told his supporters to vote for Hillary and warned that Trump would be an incredibly dangerous president. He did literally all he could. Would an endorsement the second he could not have won the primary have... made her win the election? Absolutely ****ing not, its not why she even lost She has to know this, if not I need some of those rose-colored goggles she's wearing when she reflects on things, because its very apparent that she's seeing things differently. Regardless of whether she knows it or not, she definitely knows that this question and answer will be framed and interpreted as if Bernie running is the reason she lost, but its not. MSM will pick up on it as such as well. She did the same thing with Tulsi 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

Lilmonzter 2,864
Smeary Clinton at it again Everyone except me is at fault Never mind the fact that she had a horrible campaign. VOLANTIS 16,505
I know some people prefer it rough but Bernie should have eased it in tbh. It really helps when both parties are communicating well during the act. They could have talked it out before she climbed him. I do hope she is fine now. But it’s nice to know the passion hasn’t died even in their age. I'll lift you 3 inches off the ground and drag you to a meter and a half

He literally gave away the email scandal in the first debate. He also endorsed her only a few weeks after Clinton endorsed Obama in 2008. Sanders stayed in to push the Democratic party to adopt a more progressive platform, while Clinton literally claimed that she needed to stay in the race in case Obama was assassinated. The idea that Bernie hurt her, the idea that the 2016 primary was some sort of brutal slugfest that left her damaged, has always been ridiculous. 2008 was infinitely more acidic, to the extent that Clinton's campaign literally circulated a photo of Obama in "muslim garb" to try to scare people into thinking that he was some sort of outsider. Clinton and Obama openly trashed one another on the campaign trail, by name. Despite all of that, Obama still went on to win in a landslide. If she couldn't beat Trump in one of the most winnable elections in modern history, that's on her. Shifting blame onto Bernie is insane. I mean i'm against her kind of politics in 2020 and hope bernie wins if not warren. It was just very different in 2016 to me. The way it was a 1 vs 1 primary, the way bernie's coalition was basically built around being anti-clinton...it didn't help. Obama and Clinton did **** to each other that was bad. But they were both basically corporate centrists. Bernie was running as a rejection of the entire established democratic philosophy up until that point -- especially Clinton. Running a campaign that splits the party in order to move it to a more people-centered, righteous platform is necessary and he is doing good things. I'm just saying that when you have that, plus a unified GOP --- she's right when she says that bernie's campaign hurt her. You could say that waking people up to what politics can be & swaying people to want more from their government is what hurt her. Bernie did that. It's not like he shouldn't have. But that's literally a thing that happened. Call your therapist...it's Petie Estie

Learn from it, dont deny it. No, it's you that do not understand. People like you including Hillary herself like to talk about how it was one of the main causes and choose to ignore the policy based reasons why she lost. Also, the fact that she lost and Obama won is irrelevant. You are trying to blame a supporter base that was much more supportive than Clinton was to Obama. The good thing for Obama was the fact that he ran a campaign so good he was able to win despite the fact that so many of Clinton's supporters decided they would rather vote for a Republican instead of a Democrat. Instead, Hillary likes to drag Bernie for not being a democrat when his supporters were much more willing to vote for a Democrat than her own supporters in a previous election. That's the history and you need to cope with the fact that Hillary was not a progressive. Was not a good candidate. And lost because she had no idea how to beat Trump's populism. She ran on the wrong platform because her ideas and solutions are solutions of the PAST.
