LOL, this is Gagadaily. Not OnlyGagaMusicDaily.com

This site is for all things Gaga, which Gaga is a part of Haus Labs.

If you don't care about makeup, then why waste your time commenting this on this thread.

You are missing the point of what I mean.

Yes, Gaga intends to make money off of her ventures. If she didn't, she wouldn't charge for her tours or her music. But she does.

Why? Because she's a commerical artist who belongs to a label and has people within her employ that she has to pay.

The point I'm making is that because a select number of people don't like the current business venture, they are trying to grasp at straws to come up with a reason as to why it's shallow and shitty.

Oh yeah because we don't like what she's currently doing we're delusional and grasping at straws?

PLEASE.

The ENTIRE makeup subreddit is trashing this. The ones that know about makeup and are unbiaised.

This makeup line is not good in any regards besides the Glam Attacks and Eyeliner.

The packaging is the most generic and bland you could think of

The name of the palette is just as bland

The shades are bland and not even that cohesive. You can find PLENTY of better wearable palettes for cheaper.

This palette literally looks like something you could get at the dollar store.

Please have some standards.

Uh what. Aren't you overreacting to my comment a little bit? When did I act like she committed a crime? I love the rest of her makeup, I'm just skipping this palette because I have all the colors already.

"but girl"

Girl, what? You think this is gonna be the only palette she releases?

Gaga is cursed. EVERYONE including the fans on here will NEVER let her grow up. She’s forever going to be held to the “but she’s so avant garde and crazy” stereotypes. Even if she released suntan lotion they’d say “but she’s so bold and avant garde I’d expect the lotion to dance in my skin and turn blood red when it hits the light” lmao. She is more chic than crazy now and forever keeping her in that “crazy” box will only let y’all down. The makeup is meant for the person wearing it to be natural or have fun with it artistically however they see fit. It was never marketed as make up that reflects Gaga’s old looks. The make up is nice and the formula is nice. Everyone already has weird packaging and gimmicks. She’s lady Gaga she doesn’t need all that.

May I Read You? 😎

Where most of the reviews bad? Where’s the proof that this venture is unsuccessful?

Oh because the opinion of a bunch of fans who are not into makeup is more relevant :sure:

I, a Gaga fan who is into makeup, and a bunch of people who are also into makeup and like discussing new releases, all think this is trash.

You can keep your lack of makeup knowledge / interest to yourself and let me share my feelings about this or simply say you like it and move on. I'm not the one that's gonna quote you to tell you you're wrong unless you come for me :hor:

Franch Toast

Some of you complain that she's money-hungry with her Vegas residency and Haus Labs, but then you turn around and complain that HL is going to fail because it's too basic – um, if you're annoyed by these moneymaking ventures, why would you care whether they succeed or fail?

Also, with regards to her Vegas residency, has it not been discussed time and again on this site that a primary reason for Vegas is that touring is too hard on her body, and right now, a residency is better for her health? Plus, she gets to perform J&P, which you can tell is where her heart lies. As for Enigma being a rehash of her greatest hits, of course it is, because she's not on tour with a new album, and she's trying to attract a wide audience – what is she supposed to do, perform all of her non-singles?

I'm all for being constructively critical, and I don't believe in putting celebrities up on a pedestal, but I don't think she's half-assing Haus Labs. She seems to truly believe in the products and be involved in every stop of the process – if this isn't the case, then she's a much better actress than I realize. (Yes, I am clear that she's also very strategic in how she is marketing the product, and that some of this is marketing.)  This doesn't mean she and the company haven't had potential missteps or couldn't have done a better job, but regardless, Haus Labs has done very well thus far: It's a best-seller on Amazon, and most of the products are critically acclaimed, particularly the Glam Attacks and Eye-Lie-Ner. The products are high quality and user-friendly for novices. I wear eyeliner almost every day now thanks to Haus Labs, and I receive so many compliments on both the eyeliner and the Glam Attacks. To me, this is where the heart of Haus Labs is: It makes makeup accessible to folks who aren't very makeup-savvy, and it encourages experimentation.

As for this one palette that people are griping about, no one has even seen it in person, and we don't know what the other palettes are like. Perhaps this is the more "basic" one, and the others are more adventurous. I don't find this particular palette particularly inspiring, but I don't find it awful, either. I probably won't buy it because I have plenty of other palettes, but I look forward to seeing what other palettes HL comes up with.

But truly, I do see where people are coming from. Even though I wear pretty basic eye makeup on a daily basis, I'd love a bright blue eye shadow or a bright blue Glam Attack that I could wear to Enigma or for special occasions.  I'd love to see a fun, colorful palette like the Anastasia Norvina palettes (I own Volume 2, which is awesome!). I hope HL will offer something like this later. They could make a killing if they offered an Enigma-themed makeup set with glow-in-the-dark lipstick, neon eyeshadows/Glam Attacks, etc. Imagine all the Enigma concert goers snapping up these sets. (Note to Sarah: If you're reading this, you should hire me as a consultant. I'll give you a discounted rate.)

In short, I guess my point with this palette is, let's wait and see what other palettes are rolled out and what the quality is like before we bash it. Hell, let's at least wait for the official release before we judge it.

Honestly the more time I spend here the more I realize that the best way to enjoy Gaga and whatever she chooses to do with her life and career is to not immerse myself in her fandom.

You'd think the following of a woman who's about love and kindness would be more easygoing and less childish but people seem to come here to fight and scrutinize every single thing she does or doesn't do, shame her for not catering to their desires, question her talent and creative output and shame her for daring talk about things like her mental health. It's honestly beyond exhausting.

I have never been involved so closely with a group of fans of someone because I have never been as involved as I am right now with Gaga so I may be thin skinned but good Lord, how do you guys manage to turn every single thread, every single comment, every single action into something negative? Is that a conscious effort or does the hate just flow that easily? I don't know which one is worse, honestly.

There's so many ways of presenting constructive, level-headed criticism with some foundation (which some people on this thread actually did, would you believe it!) but people just seem to resort to spewing the cruelest **** possible just because they can. I come here to have a good time and escape the shithole that my life is but it's all one and the same, I don't even know that to say.

The entire makeup subreddit.

I can find you about 20+ makeup related subreddits who have praised it.

There's literally threads on this forum linking subreddits who have praised it.

Cherry picking negative comments to support ones opinions when the (for whatever reason) well respected makeup gurus themselves have given it their stamp of approval, just shows unnecessary negativity.

The same applies to you and your negative opinions lol

You can't honestly think you are able to storm into every HL thread and trash it but think that others aren't allowed to share their opposite opinions as well :smh:

If you don't like it just don't buy it. Most of those people are just spewing vulgarities instead of constructive criticism.

I'm not buying a palette that looks bad. I won't spend my money to try it. In the meantime I have all the rights to say the packaging looks bad, the name is boring, the shades are boring and the swatches look chalky.

The post where those comments are from on r/beautyguruchatter contains basically only comments saying this is boring. I may have seen 2 or 3 top saying something remotely positive.

Beauty gurus have given their stamp of approval to the Glam Attacks and Eyeliners, and I've literally mentionned in my comments that those products were good.

Jeffree did say the packaging was boring. I'm allowed to an opinion and so are other beauty fans, and we don't have to ask what beauty gurus think to form said opinion. The collective reaction to this palette on reddit is that it looks bad and boring. Point blank.

I came here, said this was bad.

The fans who can't stand criticism started quoting me to argue.

I didn't go and randomly quote people who were saying this is good to tell them they were wrong.

This is not even music or what she does with her life. This is selling a product. It's not negativity to trash A PRODUCT. It's being a consumer and being able to call out something I think is bad and not just spend because it has Gaga's name on it.
