The One That Got Away ruined Katy’s #1 streak

She was ABOUT to beat Michael Jackson. She pushed the song with an acoustic version but it got stuck at #3 and fell.

I looked at Katy history. And noticed how the GP doesn’t want a serious song from her, hence non of her ballads went #1 or tanked. This must be why she refrains from growing, and with Witness we saw how it turned out when she tried to grow.

Thinking of You, her first ever mature single after Hot and Cold and Ikissed a girl peaked at #29. Then she released waking up in vegas and got another top 10 hit.

The One That Got Away broke her consistent #1. Then she released Part of Me a poppy song and went #1 again.

Pop ballad wide awake was released. Failing to enter #1 again. Released Unconditionally, tanked at #12. Another trap pop song released Dark Horse, went #1.

The world got used to that blue haired pop star with her bops they gave her such mediocre shots at proving her serious artistic angle. Which failed to give her that World Record from Michael(at least they’re tied).

And it was the only that did deserve the #1 :bradley:

That’s what I was thinking it was so substantial compared to the other singles

This song/video is actually amazing. Brought back a lot of memories for me. Crazy how one day we'll all be old and think back to these days. This song deserved a #1.

she should have had 8 number 1s in a row and it’s sad that she didn’t get it. 8 top 3 in a row is still pretty damn good though.

Its my fav Katy Perry song (also my fav music video from her as well)

I do think it was underrated

Another serious song I love from her is "who am I living for"
