I think this is from the same event. You cannot dismiss these groups of people and then wonder why they didn't vote for you on election day.

It needs nuanced answer but his condescension is just ugly.

Obviously deportation should have some merit behind.

I mean a request of asylum. Fleeing domestic terror etc. 

But for criminals nope.

Tbh, I don’t know if he knows, or can remember, all the nuances to answer this question. It’s obvious that he has lost a few steps since he retired three years ago. I think retirement from politics at his age and the extreme grief of losing his son has aged him significantly. 

Biden has always been a gaffe machine, but he’s now lost part of what helped counteract that all these years. 

I really think he’s four years too late and not prepared, or not able to be prepared, for what lies ahead. 

I know a lot of people that really like him...and he’s a thousand times better than Trump. I’m not sure what is going to happen with Biden. Trump has changed all the rules, in many ways.

We absolutely should legalize weed and other drugs, but legalizing (or even decriminalizing) every single drug under the sun (like heroin) isn't going to work and I don't get why people waste the effort of advocating for it instead of something that is achievable (like expunging the record for pot convictions, legalizing pot, etc.).

I guess...I don't get wasting a chance to make a point, when you are given a platform, on something like "stop every single deportation."

Biden strikes me as a man of many empty promises. He honestly has no business running for President at this point. Everytime he blunders, it’s pretty bad.

Biden is kind of right with regard to ending all deportations. I think the way he handled the situation was lacking empathy and was very wrong.

 

I mean, how hard was it to say something to the tune of... "While I will not promise to end all deportations in perpetuity, I will implement a moratorium on deportations while we reverse the atrocious policies implemented by the Trump administration and take the necessary steps to restructure ICE back under the department of justice while also making necessary reforms to ensure there aren't inhumane treatment and family separations at the boarder..."

This is an extremely good point. What logic does ending ALL deportation have anyway? What if someone dod come here illegal and commit a massive crime (mass murder/robbery/etc). Should we just keep them in our country’s prison system and pay the costs of their life expense?

I do have thoughts of running for local office. My local commissioner has been in office forever and is an army vet and I live in a red district though. I want to get my MBA first and get some more accounting experience first. I worked for a county in WA for a few years in the auditors office so I know something about the local legislative procedures but need to learn more about my community first.

Biden believes he is entitled to the nomination and it shows. He doesn’t believe criticism of him is valid, but he can’t defend himself without going on a nonsensical rant (including a numerical list, of course).

The only thing he has convinced me of is that, should he win the nomination, the debates next year are going to consist of two senile men shouting lies at one another.

Basically.

He doesn't deserve any of the support he has, he isn't actually trying to encourage voters, and his entire campaign is - talk as little as possible, squeak through to the nomination, don't try to inspire voters, just tell them that the alternative is worse.

As if we didn't try that in 2016  (And Hillary, for all her faults, did inspire people. Joe... is worse. and his entitlement is worse as well.)

If Joe wins the nomination, I will be on vacation, taking a break from politics until voting day. That will be the only reprieve I get for the next 4 years where I'll be able to not be 100% engaged in politics everyday like I am now
