This thread is from last November. This legislation is from last fall.

Read the actual article. The legislation is about giving poor and minority kids after school care (somewhere safe to be) and summer programs so they don’t fall behind their privileged peers.

The bill was backed and supported by several Senators, as well as education organizations.

Kamala is mainly doing this because so many people can't afford after school childcare. so by extending the School day, parents save money. even though it sucks for the kids
