Democrats have flipped the Virginia House and Senate, securing a legislative trifecta & with it can control redistricting, protect Medicaid expansion, institute universal gun background checks, and secure protections for LGBTQ people.

Interestingly, this is Mitch McConnells state...

Not so much. Mitch is criminally unpopular there but people will vote R still. Even with that, sometimes hatred and spite can still win the day :laughga: I’d say I’m surprised but Not because it’s McConnell’s state.

Well an incumbent Republican just lost to a Democrat, and McConnell has run close races before. I’m not saying it’s def gonna happen, but this isn’t good news for him.

In all fairness to republicans, they did win 5/6 main elections in Kentucky- just Bevin was wildly unpopular and may still head for recount.

Oh totally agree! Apologies, I thought you meant that it was surprising it was McConnell's state when Kentucky is a pretty complicated state. It definitely isn't "good" news, you're right :)

I think he had an approval rating of 46%, that’s not horrific. That’s much better than sitting senator Mitch McConnell.
