the makeup is bad but there’s a difference between critique and disrespect

also, if they’re using haus labs products and people have criticisms, the company needs to take it on board, not snap back. that’s unprofessional

It was a quick halloween makeup look its not that serious

The problem is, with bad criticism and inappropriate responses and actual insults, it's impossible not to feel bad for Sarah and not to agree with her.

But what some of you need to underatand is, she doesn't always deliver and some time she actually does plain bad makeup. The fact we notice amd criticize it does not make us "bad" fans, and she shoudl learn to accept criticism.

I know it's hard but justifying a bad makeup when all makeup artists have to deliver in the same conditions and they actually deliver doesn't make you seem professional al good.

Sarah is a GREAT makeup artist and we all know that (remember the HTS or the Met Gala??) but she's totally inconsistent and that's the problem.

People should STOP being entitles on Twitter and shoudl definitely insulting her and spreading hate towards her BUT I think Twitter stans culture shoudl just be ignored tbh, some people will never learn respect so yeah, just ignore them.

Giving importance to them is pointless, feeling hurt because of them is pointless.

Yet here we are... people discussing it and Sarah defending herself :triggered:

I feel like I’ve said it a hundred times today but it’s still this simple - If you have a makeup line and you post your makeup, people will discuss it.  Time doesn’t matter, the event doesn’t matter... if you post it, people will discuss it.  That’s it.

Oh plain bullshit.
As a professional you are trained to be as quick and effective as possible. With all her training its hard to believe Sarah cant do a clean eyeliner in 30-35 minutes. Theres decently complex make up routines that take half of that. I get circumstances CAN get in the way, but honey, circumstances have been getting in the way for the past months then 🤷🏼‍♂️
besides, IDG why they would rush for a party???? Like it wasnt a promo event or anything...like do the make up correctly and then go to the party. Its not like people where waiting for her.

It was f*cking Hallowen makeup applied at midnight, and it's not like it was for a special event – they went to a bar in Park MGM and had their own impromptu party with whomever already happened to be there. It wasn't an "official" activity like a red carpet or a concert or a photo shoot, it was just a bunch of friends getting together to have fun. Sure, one of those friends happens to be super famous, but it wasn't a work event. I'm sure if Sarah wanted to spend more time on it, she could've done a better job, but at 12:30 am, I'm guessing everyone, Gaga herself included, just wanted to go have fun and let off some steam. Plus, Sarah had to do her own damn makeup too. And who knows – maybe they'd been pre-funking by then too.

Anyway, Sarah's not the one who brought up the Little Makeup Artists' critiques this time – other people on her page did, and then she agreed with them.

If this were the look for something official, the criticisms would be more justified, but given the circumstances, it just comes off as petty and nitpicking.

I think people who have sh*t to say about Sarah forget how many iconic looks she's given us and the skills she has to offer as a make-up artist...I mean has everyone totally forgotten about the countess??? she had to create 60+ ORIGINAL looks just for AHS: Hotel alone. What about the super bowl, the oscars, the MET gala, the whole ASIB promo tour...Sarah is definitely more than capable of serving us a look and rising to the occasion.

However that being said...for someone who has just released a brand new make-up brand Gaga, Sarah and her team need to take on board the image/content they're putting out. The internet and social media is cut-throat and unforgiving, stans and haters will literally rip you apart if you set a foot wrong. I hate saying this but it's the sad truth unfortunately...if a mass of people are critiquing your work something needs to change.

Yeah except this was just a quick halloween makeup look it should not have been taken this seriously was just for fun

Nobody would give a **** if they wouldn't post that close-up look "showing" what great make-up they did. If she defends herself that it wasn't unpolished because it was super quick WHY THE HELL it was posted on instagram???

Lame, I've seen Mac Cosmetics sales people at the mall turn better looks in 15 minutes.

If she would have just said I was drunk and half high at the time I would have been like ok girl you get a pass. It was 12:30 AM on Halloween I get that every body is either drunk, high or both by that time.

Sarahs huge problem is inconsistency. She used to deliver incredible looks with AHS, but halfway through ASIB she started to let herself go. Even if Gaga contributes to the designs, even crappy color choices can look good if they are done right, and lately her editorial work only looks good under a studio light and after it has been photoshoped. I don't get why she has been letting the guard down knowing she is more than capable as a make up artist.

Because not everyone believes that only perfect looks should be posted on social media.

Also, Sarah's caption contains the disclaimer: "My little pony glam quick after Enigma! It’s meant for far away but wanted to give you a closer look even though I didn’t have enough time to perfect it, it was still so much fun! @ladygaga I couldn’t do it without my @hauslabs Eye.LIE.Ner xoxo incredible pony hair by @fredericaspiras"

One, it's meant to be admired from far away, not up close. Two, she makes it clear that it's unpolished due to lack of time.

Personally, I'm grateful that they're willing to share these rough, unpolished looks with us. I'd rather see genuine looks than only red carpet-ready looks. If nothing else, it makes me feel better about my own sucky makeup skills. If people keep dragging her, pretty soon they're not going to share any of these candid shots with us.

She very well might've been, but maybe she doesn't want to admit that on social media? It was midnight on Halloween, so I hope she and everyone else were lit AF by then.
