PoshLife 17,019
This is a 200 IQ move. No social media platform will EVER be able to keep up with the disinformation campaigns, the propaganda, and the fake news - might as well nip it in the bud entirely. That said, this WILL make it harder for candidates with low name recognition to build an audience for themselves - not everybody already has millions of followers, and that shouldn't mean they can't run for office. Personally I think they should ban all political ads that link off-site but consider allowing "follow this account" ads. idk, I haven't thought it through very much. Please say yes Yep: And from the article: Twitter’s revised policy covers ads intended to influence elections including ballot measures, as well as those that address “issues of national importance." The new rules will be applied globally, and they are slated to take effect in late November. But the change doesn’t affect what users on their own can tweet and share, meaning it may not have much impact on widely followed accounts, including President Trump’s, whose tweets already reach more than 66 million users each day. ⚡🐲
