So just because a couple of movies do really well means that (overall) original content obtains more money than sequels, reboots, remakes, etc.? 

There's a reason why Disney keeps doing these live action remakes. It's because it makes them a ton of money (for the most part). You can't argue that fact.

New things are still made.

But who owns the money today? The gen Y, the Millenials, who mostly are in their mid 30s and early 40s. And grew up with the originals of these remakes, and they have very welcomed of the remake  too, to take their own children to experience what they had in cinema back then. And it have been a working marketing strategy so far. They don't have reason to stop.

I pointed out why it keep being remade. Not about money. So you are the one need to proof read my reply. Popular objects are always been remade, not just Disney's.

It's because the current generation always wanted to show a piece of themselves to their own kids, the future generation, and every remade are always done with modern sensibilities that relevant current situation. With Lion King it is the amazing CGI works, as hand drawn cartoons are lost art and ancient now for the Gen Z. The same with all those Planet Of The Apes movies. Which was originally started in the 1970s.

Remaking movies is not a new thing. And I can beg 10-15 down the line, we will see Avengers remake, or Call Me By Your Name remake, and so on. I think it is rather fun that each generation have their own version of Charlie's Angels for example. Why not? My parents got Farah Fawcett's, mine will always be Cameron Diaz's. And the gen Z's will be the one coming out next month, most likely.

Well, it makes a lot of sense from a monetary standpoint: They have already designed and 3D Modeled all of the characters (probably the most expensive part of the process), they just have to create new animation for them. Besides, sequels of films that do well in theaters are usually a very, very safe bet.
