Chromatican 4,046
And most people go back on New Year’s Resolutions, don’t follow through with gym memberships and relapsing is common for drug addicts. What does that change about the health benefits or moral arguments for veganism?

GagaSine 7,464
Tbh as a food service worker I don‘t think I could eat meat again handling 100 lbs of meat every day... it‘s grotesque and the smell of raw meat of any kind is so metallic & unpleasant to me. Whenever I crave chicken tenders or anything like that I just see all the sinew and skin on the raw chicken in my mind and it fully kills the craving. It requires a lot of time & effort or at least money to eat a well planned/balanced meat free diet so it‘s understandable people give up. As someone who loves cooking it‘s easier for me. tifffany 373
Soo 1/3 quit within 3 months and more than half quit within the first year. IMO that speaks more to people’s lack of commitment and less to the difficulty or value of being a vegetarian/vegan. Plenty of people try to start new habits—stop smoking, stop biting your nails, start exercising, etc—and end up reverting to their old habit. I would be more interested in why they quit and if their quitting was influenced by societal pressures (lack of accessible plant based foods, judgmental family and friends, lack of knowledge on how to have a balanced plant-based diet).
