There’s no such thing as pure pop. She was making dance music!

I thought pop music and dance music are interchangeable, what's the difference?

Totally agree! I so wish we could have seen her react to winning that Grammy, just the look on her face :bradley: I bet she was so surprised!

I literally was on the floor at like 4am when I heard that Joanne won, I can't imagine the emotions that she had, she was literally thinking of doing a song for her aunt for a long time and the fact that it won a Grammy too....

So glad that she won a Grammy for "Joanne," especially knowing that it's something she felt she had to write about, and how important it is to her and her family.  I wish we could've seen more footage like this in Five Foot Two––don't get me wrong, I enjoy the documentary, but I would've loved to have seen footage of her and Mark initially coming up with the beginning to the song "Joanne," or their conversations about the album, etc. I feel like the album was already well underway by the time they started filming it.

And her comments about Mark are so sweet. Their friendship is beautiful.

This is so beautiful.  Where can I watch the entire documentary?

It's supposed to be available for free on YouTube starting today. [Edited because I didn't realize it already was October 12 today!] I can only find the trailer though...

I think it'll be available after it airs on BBC. Don't hold me to it though that's just what I gathered from the website.

Joanne (both the album and the song) is so important to me. It came out a little after I lost my aunt (coincidentally enough) who I was very close with. It helped me deal with my grief and the messy emotions that come from it.

I'll forever be grateful to Gaga for being there for me at such a low point, no matter how indirect and unconscious her support may have been.

I'm really glad that she was able to make this album and to have people in her life like Mark that uplifted and truly listened to her wants and needs as an artist and more importantly as a person.

I know not everyone likes Joanne or what it represents, but I think we all can at least appreciate how significant it is to Stefani and her family.

The song Joanne is absolutely everything to me. It came out a month or so before my dad passed away from cancer. He was quickly deteriorating, and listening to that song was so therapeutic for me. I didn’t want him to go, but we all knew it was happening. He was so young, and to have to watch the cancer eat away at his body and spirit was absolutely heartbreaking. The song really captured exactly how I felt, and put how I was feeling into words. The song is so special and it still makes me sob to this day.
