LilyLark 10,122
Their loss. Billboard or one of those types of music sites/magazines did a piece once about how many big stars were passed over or dropped from a label. It happens a lot! Besides Gaga, Bruno Mars is one of the bigger names who was dropped. I can't remember who it is off the top of my head, but Vince Hebert signed another big name, besides Gaga, who had been dropped from their first label, too. I know people drag Vince, because he cheated on Tamar Braxton and because of the ARTPOP mess, but he's given Gaga a fair amount of artistic freedom (how many labels would let someone who cut their teeth on dance/pop music do jazz covers and Joanne?). Anyway, it's not a surprise imo that she resigned with Vince and Interscope/UMG.
corvus albus 38,031
Good for her. She's too good for them anyway
Lord Temptation 11,209
To be fair, she has no stage prescence whatsoever. So we can’t really blame them
RAMROD 110,189
That always happen with record labels, ain't it? You win some, you lose some. It is not meant to be for them, otherwise Ariana would have completely different story now. Things happened for a reason. Often times people would question it, why something happened to them, but nobody know the answer, until they did, and experience the struggles themselves. ryansamonster 1,762
There’s NO WAY they could’ve foreseen a 14 year old girl from Nickelodeon becoming the huge artist she is now. They made a bad call yes, but it’s the music biz and this stuff happens. They’re busy celebrating Lizzo’s 5 week #1 anyway right?

Def Jam actually signed Gaga for a period of time, then they dropped her after she refused to comply with what they wanted (like extreme control over her artistry, taking her songs and giving them to other artists, and extreme autotune on Gaga's voice ect...)
